I cleaned out the garage the other day and found some old Martial Arts tapes of me from when I was 16 or 17...1995. I was a Senior in High School and up to about 220 pounds.

My first fight...the guy kicked me in the groin 3x and never even got a warning. Most of the time if he kicked you 2x you were awarded a penalty point and the 3rd time was disqualification... He decided to charge me, I kicked him...and got a warning for it...lol

I do some stuff every once in a while...but not often. I was never very good at kata...the small guys always looked a lot better than I did. They could move so much faster than I could...

I loved to fight....

I used to use the move that he was trying on you all the time. High ridge hand to get your arms up, sidekick to the solar plexus.

Worked better for me than him, it appears.

I still can't believe you guys use that small of gloves... But hey as long as no one gets really hurt... Can you move that good now??? hahaha I just started my fighting training as well and have lost some serious weight. Good shit as always Bfold

P.S. about the guy running away you should have just stand still and when he comes in to strike just pounce on him with a reverse hand to the chest.... hahaha seeing the look on his face would have been priceless

I think that our gloves were just a hair less than 2 oz each. Had my nose broken twice and knocked out once with them

I like to fight aggressive...and when you stand still you are a standing target...I don't like that. I liked being bigger but faster. I can move pretty well still.

I was a nationally ranked competitor and they had 2 tourneys a year here in my area. I would always make one of them and just blow their socks off. They all wore plain uniforms, didn't make any wild sounds, and did traditional katas... I always did that contest just to show them that there was another world out there...
