Females: Do you feel your rights are being violated? (PBA BAN-VERY GRAPHIC)

umm seems i forgot too mention something in my post

rape and horrid birth defects where the child wouldnt live are acceptable, but the rape would not be a PBA at all, you would most likely have it done as soon as you found out ( correct? ). Thx to those who said those and let me correct my stance

I am pro-choice if it's early term. Not if it's a PBA! I also believe in a women's right to an abortion in the case of rape and or incest. I just believe that's PBA's are barbaric.

MsBoss,

How was your friends pregnancy aborted? Was it a PBA?
The couple were a relative to me. I don't know for sure. I never asked them. It was a very, very touchy subject and that just never came up. All I know is that they decided to termenate in the 5th month and they were very ( mostly the female ) emotionally upset bu it. Plus this EX family I was a part of never really discussed htings openly which made it tough to bring it up.

"They'll do everything they can to prevent abortion and make sure you make it to birth, but once you're born, you're on your own."

You have a rightful claim to your life. After this, your life is your responsibility. Your statement somehow insinuates that after birth, others are obligated to maintain your existence. I cannot make the argument that now that I am born, others in society, must cater to my needs.

Wow....on your own after birth. Are you sure you could have hacked it after being discarded in the woods with no bottle nor blanket?

Why are the majority of Pro-Life people Pro-Death Penalty?

Very simple. Why do we put some members of society to death? Is it because they exist? No. It is because during their existence they have horribly violated the rights of others and society punishes according to your actions and their threat to others. We don't execute jaywalkers, because their threat to society is insignificant.

Abortions, most often, occur because the fetus exists. Its presence interferes with the mother. It does not threaten her life, in most cases, and does not threaten others in society (unless you are one of the irrationalists who believes that others threaten some aspect of their doomsday mentality of overpopulation and resource depletion, but then you are a hypocrite, for you should likewise kill yourself). Because the mother does not wish to bear any responsibility for her actions, she utilizes the procedure to remove this inconvenience, and therefore she terminates the existence of another, because of her actions.

The two acts are not morally equivalent. One is a punishment for a persons actions, the other is a punishment because of the actions of another.

i'm sorry, but after reading this, i dont see how any human being could do such a thing, let alone lobby for the continuation of such a ghastly thing.

I agree. I've always thought that partial-birth abortion is way beyond fucked up.

I went to Google image search the other day and pulled up some pics...disturbing shit. Very disturbing. This is a disgusting thing when we can allow this in our society as a legal, medically sanctioned procedure.

atlanta,

what line of work are you in? your responses make it easy to assume you are an educated guy.

I agree with you 194443% about people not taking responsibility for their actions. However, raising a kid safely is one hell of a responsibility in today's fucked up world.

Do not place the blame of the child's potential on anyone but the mother. Society is never perfect and the child, as all individuals, will eventually be the bearer of his own life.

I don't think a woman needs to be put in that position because she was too stupid to abstain.

Then you have given lisence for irresponsibility. The woman is responsible for her situation (except in rape). What you are saying is don't make a person accountable for their actions, simply punish the new individual for her actions.

No reason to put 2 lives through hell. So, I say, if you're not going to be able to handle raising the child without going on welfare, or putting the kid up for adoption, abortion may be the way to turn. It may not be nice, but Christ, there are already 6+ billion people in the world, and I don't know how many in poverty. The world does not need any more.

There are presently millions of people who are in poverty, in prison, or existing off of the productivity of others; what gives them the right to exist, yet this individual does not have this right? Statistical probability? They might turn out bad, or burdens of society, etc.? It is a dispicable idea that we determine who lives and dies based on statistical probability.

I can't understand how it's ok to pull apart a fetus limb by limb, even though it is a small %. But, if this where to happen to a poor defenseless animal, let's say a puppy, boy what a camotion this would stir up. You'd have animal rights people hollering, and the proper authorities called in and the person that did the barberic act brought up on charges of animal cruelty. But doctors get a licsense to this to a baby. Dispicable.

True. Here's a link to a past EF thread concerning a burned kitten:

Cas,

I can't read it. It would make me so sick.

I think that even if a baby was born into an adverse situation that they could go ahead and triumph over it. It is possible. Sometimes the bad things that happen to us in life, is what makes us the people we are, whether it is good or bad.
