Female friend is trying Arimidex @ 1/4mg /day for 2 weeks

She's in good shape already. she's started tues. She noticed a larger than normal amount of bleeding during her period wed. Is this coincidence (sp ?) or to do with the arimidex. I know what effects it has on me and have done the searches on her for the topic.

Wanted to get some "real world feedbac" from any females that have actually tried it. Now my current gf I will not allow to touch. NYC/Yohimburn will work jus fine. However the other girl want to see the effect for herself. The bleeding went back to normal after 24 hrs.

I know how quick Arimidex works for me along with my Fina/Prop/NYC/Yohimburn. However I've never known a woman personally that's attempted arimidex. She's on no birth control whatsoever by the way.

If anybody has any input at all feel free to post.

There was some big discussion about arimidex (or liquidex) vs. proviron and also nolva as an anti-estrogen. I've only heard one or two stories about women using a-dex. The catch is that it totally shuts down estrogen production. Do a search on arimidex or a-dex or l-dex on the women's board and you should find these threads for more details.

Did the search prior

maybe I missed something. I'll look again. Wanted to hear from the women themselves who have experienced. She used the A-dex because it's what was available

I take Nolvadex, an anti-estrogen that works the same way Arimidex does. I have no trouble with my periods or abnormal bleeding. I'm taking it post steroid cycle (20mg/day) and I have also taken it in the past to block estrogen and avoid estrogen related fat deposits. Unlike your friend, I am and have been on birth control.

Perhaps she should not take it while bleeding. During menstruation a woman's estrogen is at it's all time low in the menstrual cycle. Further blocking it could be causing the problems.

As with any drug, everyone reacts differently.

Yes, please keep us posted on her results. Why 2 weeks? What are her goals/hoped for outcome. For the record, women's estrogen inhibition is nothing like men's!!

From the makers of Arimidex (Astra Zeneca):

"Aromatase
inhibitors, on the other hand, are
more effective in postmenopausal
women because they only target the
non-ovarian production of estrogen.
In premenopausal women, most of
the estrogen is produced by the
ovaries, so aromatase inhibitors are
only useful in premenopausal women
if ovarian production of estrogen is
stopped first. This can be done by
surgery (removing ovaries), radiation
(destroying ovaries) or chemically
(LHRH agonists like goserelin or
buserelin). "

So unless your female friend has a lot of bodyfat, she is unlikely to see much in the way of results....her ovaries will be churning out far more estrogen than the Arimidex will inhibit. She may experience a transient increase in testosterone, but it prolly won't be significant or last long. However, IMMV.

I know the serch fucntion works

She is going for 2 weeks to give just to see how her body reacts to it personally I guess. She's not on birth control because her "tubes are tied" so to speak.
