Fat loss diet?

dave-inator

New member
hi, i'm 15 years old and im just looking for some insight on a good diet for just fatloss right now; i'm not doing much exercise atm but working on getting into some sort of routine.

anyways:

breakfast: wheaties or some other cereal (special k, crispix, etc) or 2 eggs (the entire thing , scrambled if that matters)

lunch: caesar chicken salad or a chicken wrap (chicken wrapped in a tortilla with lettuce tomato and honey mustard)

dinner: some form of protein, steak, salmon, chicken. usually with like peas+brown rice. depends, i do not cook for myself so meals tend to change.

thanks for the help.

eat 6 meals instead of 3, makes ure to east as soon as you wake up, and throw some protein a little fat before you sleep.

do you know your maintenance calories ?

it would help to know if you're a male of female.

also, do you weight train?

give us as much background as possible so that we can accurately respond.

i do not weight train...yet at least. i am a male, 15 years old. uh, about 5'8'' 123 pounds. lost 17 lbs over the course of like 6 months, now im trying to get into some sort of routine where i have a set diet and workout plan and get leaner/more toned.

sorry if thats not good enough, if you need more info just ask - keep in mind i'm completely new at this. i do not know what you mean by maintenance calories. like how much i have daily? sorry :-\

just play some sport at school! your fifteen , you shouldn't be obsessing over getting toned etc. You're still growing, so eat healthy (like what you posted but add some fruit) and the fat will go. You've still got growth spurts etc to go through so focus on what's important at the moment, ie study?!...

You're pretty young so I wouldnt get too in depth with diets right now.
Sure build a base and start getting some good habbits but also remember to enjoy your youth :)

Anyway what i'd suggest is to stay as active as you can, play sports, ride bikes and walk whenever u can. Cut down on your PS2 and XBOX time ;)

Eat plenty of natural and unprocessed foods like vegetables, beans, oats, barley and good proteins

avoid sugary refined foods like cereals, breads, doughnuts but dont give them up completely like i said, you want to develop good habbits but not ruin the fun whilst ur at it! :)

Babyfaced gave great advice.

Really, just stick to the basics and develop good eating habits, healthy choices, and in time, bit by bit, you will reach your goals I believe!

Good luck!

basically maintenance calories is what it takes to maintain your current bodyweight.. consume less then that and you will loose weight, consume more and you will gain weight...

maintenance is generally between Bodyweight(in lbs) x 13 - Bodyweight x 15 for most people..

you can test and figure it out percisely if you wish...

there are other tweaks you can/could use.. but this is the overall determining factor.. good luck.
