But then they actually got cancer and it wasn't really funny anymore.

Omg I watched it last night
I was in tears. It was heartbreaking, especially when her son came to visit her from jail.

Some people go to Germany because most of those treatments are not available here in the US. I remember the interview with Bob Woodruff (sp?), the abc news anchor who got injured in Iraq..He was treated at a medical facility in Germany as well. He said that if they hadn't treated him in Germany, he probably wouldn't have survived. MOst of those procedures are considered illegal here in the US.

If a doc tells you bad news in the USA, and you had money, you bet your ass you'd be looking for alternative treatment/solutions.

Once that shit spreads to other organs, specifically the pancreas or liver, you can go to Mars or Uranus (no pun intended) for treatment and you're still a goner.

btw, I believe in putting up the good fight if there's any realistic way of surviving, butt to spend your last days flying to Germany for painful treatments ain't the way I'm going out.
