ok here it is...i played Oline in college, i am 6-0 290, was very solid and strong in college, but now that i am a post grad (one year later) i am working out less, and becoming very soft, i feel like a shell of my former self, genetically, i carry my wieght around my waist, so i am developing quite the spare tire...please help...i am so used to eating and lifting to get big, i really have no idea how to change my lifestyle to lose the weight,...i run, but not consistently, i eat good, but again, not really consistently, id like to get down to 250-260, i have a very good background in working out, i also have a very good base, i know i could have a really good body if i can just strip some of the fat...only thing is i have no direction,id like to lose about 30 pounds, but basically im tired of being overweight and sloppy around the waist...please help a brother get back to feeling good!!!

shit man you sound just like me, except I was 6-1 295. I had no reason to be 295 when football ended. I got down to a solid 260 by consuming around 3000 cals a day divided into 5-6 meals. I did a 40/40/20 ratio on the protein, carbs and fat and ran for cardio every other day. I still did the same workouts and was able to maintain all my hard earned muscle and strength. Good Luck.

My college teammates who were olineman all slimmed down after college unless they are still playing today. When they were in school they were canning down a ton of calories in order to keep their weight up. Id advise cutting your calories to about 10-12 x Body weight. Keep your workouts the same but cut your rest b/w sets down to 60 seconds and this will get you heart rate up during your lifting workout. Your strength will suffer bc of the low rest time but your body will adjust to it in time. Once your results slow from doing this you can add in some cardio. Your not trying to get into contest shape here so go have fun play some pickup bball or some back yard football even racquetball is another good choice and you will burn a ton of calories
