Everything to failure?

The people who tell you you don't need to go to faliure are NOT top bodybuilders. Period. I worked out at Gold's Venice for 10 years. I don't know a single pro who doesn't go to failure... and Charles Glass trainer of trainers to the top pros takes his clients to failure all the time.

Powerlifters do not need to go to failure every set. Bodybuilders do.

I rarely ever go to failure...can't remember the last time I did.

PROGRESSIVE RESISTANCE TRAINING, That`s what we`re all doing. Call it what you will but in 6 months if your not doing either more weight or more reps or SOMETHING to increase workload then your not really gonna grow.
Having said that AS LONG AS YOU CAN RECOVER FROM WORKOUTS then wether you`re going to failure or not, you have to progressively add intensity in the long run. Your not going to grow 2 inches on your arms from one workout. Doing forced reps, failure, drop sets, etc. Is fine AS LONG AS YOU CAN RECOVER. AND as long as you can keep going MORE AND MORE month after month year after year.
I`m telling you this NYC stuff sure gives you extra energy.

I used to go to failure for about 2 years straight, then I switched to WSb and gained about 15 lbs in 2.5 months.

There is sticky at the top of the page about just that. I believe there are some links in that post as well.

i used to train to failure every set, then my gains started to suffer, i only go to failure the last 2 sets for every exercise.
