Ever seen a curl bar like this?

... I found a deal on CL for a few Olympic bars, including this weird curl bar. It's flat on two sides of the gripping area (see pic). I've seen all kinds of various bends, but never seen one flattened like this. It's also fatter in the grip area than most I've used.

Any ideas on why they made it this way? I'm going to try it out and see how it feels.
