I was looking into buying a reverse hyper. They are way over priced for such a simple peice of machinery don't you think?

Elitefts has them for $800+

The standard reverse hyper is 800 dollars and can hold over 180lbs if you put plates or dumbells on the front legs (something I found out after my strength level got to the point where I thought I'd outgrown it). It will last a lifetime, IMO and is well worth it. I would suggest just strapping plates to your ankles while saving the money for the real thing, but do whatever you want. Don't fool yourself into thinking that the wood stuff will be as safe as a welded metal machine, though. Sure, wood is somewhat strong (I saw dude's webpage with his stool/bench) but it can break/splinter and the joints are not secure enough to withstand the shock and stress of a fast moving weight. But do whatever you want.

I can point you in the right direction...but you are probably looking at around $600 or so...plus shipping. Maybe less...

I taught myself to weld and built a very very good reverse hyper, almost identical to an original and cost 1/6 the price.

draw up a plan and give it to a steel "fabrication" place or a welder.....or a friend who can be paid in beer, supply the steel....its easy.

copy rights add alot to a price tag
