No, I have accepted that there will be no mistletoe and no endless embrace as the world counts down to a new year.... Really though, it's ok. See it is not by circumstance, it is by choice.

I love only one man and for one reason or another I have accepted that we will only be together in our dreams.... it's ok, because rather than being saddened by that fact that I won't see him or speak to him every day, I am comforted by the fact that I will see him and be with him EVERY NIGHT.

I have my girls and MY LIFE to keep me busy heheheee.... finding and keeping a man are not ANYWHERE on my list of priorities.

Besides, my heart doesn't work that way. He is a truly wonderful and amazing man amongst men.... I just hope that someday he can see it - with me or without me. :)

Brotha - I spent the last thirteen years of my life with silver/bronze... and yes sometimes he wasn't even ALUMINUM - LOL!

No... this guy IS GOLD. I have faith that in time HE will see this too! Whether we end up together or not is not my primary focus any longer (although, I think ya'll can imagine WHERE and HOW I want to end up hehehehee).

I truly want to be here for a friend to support him through what very well may be some of the most difficult hours for him as well. That is how our relationship began - he reached out to me in my darkest hours.... AS A FRIEND and nothing more, giving everything - expecting nothing. Now it is my turn and I do it gladly - giving everything and expecting nothing.

But as I said, whether we end up together or not is not the main issue... I want for him to find happiness, just as I have found it. I realize that this may very well NOT INCLUDE me in the big picture and I am ok with it.

He is truly amazing.... but for all of my words and actions, this won't amount to a hill of beans. He needs to discover this for himself..... I have faith. And what do we both have, if not time?!

If nothing else, then we will have the gift of friendship. How often to we meet people that will have FOREVER changed our lives... FOR THE BETTER?! So even if this is all that I "get" how could I complain? :)

Sometimes we get just what we expect. Obviously this is your personal decision and you've thought it out, etc. But how would you feel if one of your daughters told you they had decided that there was one man out there whose shit didn't stink, and they would not consider having a relationship with anyone else, even if that love was not reciprocated?

Sorry, I'm not sure why I'm harping on this, I guess I just hate to see beauty wasted.
 
Your comments are justified and I appreciate your taking up for me. But believe me when I tell you - I KNOW THIS MAN'S SHIT STINKS! hehehehehhehehee He is NOT perfect. Believe me, at my age and with my life experience my eyes are wiiiiiiiiide open. But there comes a time when we have to put sex aside to help a friend. If it works out in the end, then that will be wonderful for us both. If the only good that comes of this is that I have opened his eyes to all that is truly wonderful within himself at the cost of our physical relationship, then it will have been well worth it.

In the end, if he never came to realize all that was so miraculous about himself what good would a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship be? He would not be able to appreciate all that I am if he could not love himself fully, right?

I am not saying that my eyes are closed to the rest of the world. All I am saying is that I am not actively seeking male companionship. I have so much on my plate: my girls, my family, my friends, my training, my work, getting back to school, finalizing my divorce...... I don't NEED to worry about dating. If someone comes along that I am interested in then I may spend some time, but I have such a limited amount of free time and have spent so much of my time caring for the needs of others these past thirteen years that I now I want to do WHAT I WANT TO DO - WHEN I WANT TO DO IT!

See, I am not home alone pining away for this man. I am here if he needs me. But he has to do the work himself. Until we can reconnect I am focusing on getting the rest of my life in order. Yes, admittedly, it is very difficult. But ultimately, for me, it is a win/win situation. So how can it be bad?

PS - He DOES LOVE ME VERY MUCH, but we are both mature enough to know that there are times when love simply is not enough.

HAHA....Well I'm no lady and no sugar for me but wanted to jump in and wish everyone a happy time. Since I'll be spending my 1st Christmas away from the faimly I've always known this will be an interesting time...I have 2 special people that are supposed to come up this Thursday and spend 3 weeks God willing they get here in one piece since the last trip one of them didn't

I just hope everyone else has someone to spend this time with

Hehehehehehee Looking at this old thread brings back some memories... some treasured and some not-so-good....

This year I will again have my beautiful girls and my sister's family but I wish so much that I could visit at least one of you guys that I am close with on Elite. But time and money and work, blah, blah, blah....

I won't be getting the one thing that I wished for for Christmas this year... but I will be getting what I NEED, the love of my children. Heck, it is Christmas for me EVERY DAY!!!
