well i break the cardio up in 30 minite intervals throughout the day. ill do like half in the morning before work then other half at night after school. some days i just do 2 and a half hours of cardio with no lifting. if im doing all stair master i will only do just 2 hours of cardio and 15-30 minites of lifting. but if i do running and stair master i wont do any lifting, because running takes me longer to do than stair master.
some days i may box and kick box for 30 minites
running for example i calculate each mile burns 120 calories or so at my bodyweight. some times ill do 8.5 miles in a day so thats basically about 1000 calories
but i prefer the stair climber because its is much more intense. the machine says i burn about 550 calories in 30 minites. i believe it too because i swear in just 30 minites i am soaked from head to toe in sweat. i am much more sweaty in just 30 minites of stair climber than 5 miles of running.
it takes about a few weeks of getting conditioned to the point where u can handle alot of cardio. just stick with it everyday if you can. space it out through the day
so my routine is like this........
30minite stairclimber, rest for 5 minites, 30 minite stairclimber, lift for 20 minites--------AM WORKOUT
30 minite stairclimber, rest for 5 minites, 30 minite stairclimber--------PM WORKOUT
or
1 and 1/2 hour of running------AM
30 minite stairclimber, rest for 5, 30 minite stairclimber-------PM WORKOUT
