Just to let you know...
There is a fault line that runs through MS, TN, and up. It is way larger than the one in CA. It is called the New MAdrid Fault. It has cause the three most largest earthquakes in US history. IT is large enough to fuck the whole central US up. Back in the 1810's it quaked and cause DAMAGE in New England.

and hey dude that said dont laugh bout earthquakes, we have to laugh about them, i have always known that faultline was there, everyone knows that. We just cant walk around wearing concrete boots and gluing all our things to tables.... We also know there is cancer out there and murders, but we cant be held hostage by our fears or that will kill us all in its self

yup, nothing to live in fear over. There's fault lines everywhere. Could anyone even feel that small of an earth quake?
I had the "pleasure" of sitting through 2 when I lived in CA. The first was a 5. Was at a friend's place and the couch started wobbling and I could feel the ground moving under my feet. I sat there and told him we had just sat through an earthquake. He didn't believe me. It was extremely windy and he said the wind could actually rattle and shake his place a little bit (tiny cheap ass house he was renting). Sure enough, the next day we found out it was a small earth quake. Nothing major at all, but it was definetly weird.
The second one was a 7.1 or 7.2. Me and a girl had just went to sleep about 45 minutes earlier on my couch. I woke up hearing this tremendous rumbling and noticed that everything was shaking. I had no clue what was going on. I pulled her a little bit closer and covered her body with mine and just laid there staring around the room as everything shook violently. As soon as it was over, she says, "that was a pretty powerful earthquake." Later on when things calmed down, I joked around with her and said I fucked her so hard I made the earth move
We were in the barracks on the ground floor. Guys that were up on the third floor had been tossed out of their beds. I went outside, and the other guys in the barracks were already out there. First thing I looked at was my motorcycle, which remained upright. My buddy's bike didn't fare so well. Me and him picked it up and assessed the damage (which he later got covered by insurance).
The tremors afterwards were pretty intense too. Went on for a few days. No one died as a result of that earth quake, very few injuries. The epicenter of that one was in the training area of the base. They had ariel photographs in the following days showing that the ground shifted around 12 feet. They found a spot where a truck had been through the sand not too long earlier and you could see how far the tire tracks had shifted.
Someday, California is going to become the new lost city of Atlantis.

I totally agree with not letting fear rule your lives. I just wanted you to be aware that it was there and it is a bitch of a fault line. and that one day it is going to hit. Hell, my home town is right off one of the biggest Calderia volcanoes in the US which is jackson, ms. So, I wasn't trying to play the grumpy old man, I was just informing you incase you did know.
