Drugs anyone?

who doesnt?

or at least didnt....

why though?

you looking for regular day to day users, or occasional ones?

At some point or another...

I have tried just about everything. Still enjoying hitting the snow occassionally when I head back down to my college and hang out with my fraternity brothers.

i'd say Alcohol has the biggest effect on training. Not only is it packed with empty calories but its hard on the body. . . . .

Unless you're on heroin, pretty much every other drug just cooks your brain . . . if you are doing drugs in moderation, it shouldnt have much of an effect on your training

No

I don't think it has affected me at all as far as working out because I don't do it very often. I know people that get stoned before they work out because they claims it helps them concentrate on the muscle group they are working on. I have tried it and had a good workout but I felt so tired.

25 yrs old and never done an illegal substance. Can count on one hand the times I've had alcohol, and no, I'm not Mormon.

drugs

have tried everything except heroine. had to enter a drug treatment center for a vicodin addiction i developed after my neck surgery. if anyone is thinking about abusing that drug, think again. coming off that was like no pain you've ever felt. unreal. my whole insides turned to liquid. had the squirts for a month. couldnt sustain any energy for about 9 months. just so much worse than i ever could have imagined

i do drugs to a medium level recreational use..ie only at weekends and fairly hefty sessions. working out on the monday is fine, in fact it normaly makes my mood better than wothout a workout. e's kinda make me feel knackered tho and slightly down til tuesday. ketamine is definelty my favourite, i find i can work out harder the day after. last week i got told by the guys to stop working out next to them cos it makes them look shit! (i am the only female that works out at this gym) ha ha. been using recreational drugs more or less every weekend/ every other weekend since i was 19. im 26 now and hold down a full time job as a civil engineer...that bit sucks! :supercool

I used to a lot as a teen/in my 20's. Now, at 30, I just don't find it very practical or useful. I either have to work, or am going to workout, or have to drive somewhere, etc etc. If I want to unwind, I'd rather hit the gym/tae kwon do class/mountain bike than get high.

To strive for a healthy body and lifestyle, and to have drugs as a regular part of that lifestyle, seems like a huge oxymoron.

Plus, with my occupation, I see all levels of addiction.

Most "functioning addicts" usually are in denial, anyways ;)

But I digress. To answer the question, no, I don't think it has affected me, at all. I used a LOT of pot, alcohol, cocaine once, and LSD.

Marijuana has no permanent effects on the brain. Does have minor temporary effects on Short-term memory and episodic memory that cease within days after stopping use. There is also no danger of OD and the effects on the lungs are minor unless you chief like a warrior. You can always get high grade and a water pipe. Check the WebMD articles bors.

Done it all, never been addicted. LSD is definately the best! It's like an anti-drug though, their is no hiding from your life when your tripping, and it can be used as metaprogramming/NLP tool. Im 36 now and just try to take care of my body. occasional weed smoking, and maybe a glass of wine now an then. The older I get the more I appreciate sobriety and sanity.

weed ed or atleast eod, coke on occasion, very rare xtc use and thats all folks, of course like before mentioned the older i get the less craving i have for those shitty substances

Your pretty dumb for a civil engineer.

Have tried most , exept heroin and crack and shit like that, mostly amfetamines and xtc though during my younger years, say from 19 to 23. Weekends and events with my buddy´s no harm no foul, all got out of it and none suffered because of it, that is of my closer friends. Have seen some aquantances from that time didn´t come out that good, still fighting the habbit , atleast a few and mostly damaged , there is nothing I can talk to theese guys today (conversation), there is definite damage. And I have seen far worse cases than that, the father of my spouse runs a institute for drug addicts that want to get clean and theese are often people in their 40 and 50´s that have used since they were teenagers. The most damaged ones that never can become like normal people to some extent are the ones on heroine and hashish/weed, also the cokeheads are pretty screwed up even though clean for 5 years, as many come to visit and come to meetings and stuff, but the hashheads, which is really underrated as hazardous as it sneeks up on you after years of use, I´m telling you theese people become clean but they dont recover, serious phsycotic disturbances and hallucinations years after use was suspended, most end up in suicide. There was this one guy in his 50's that even years since his abuse while fighting the phsycological problems he poked one of his eyes out with a spoon or a fork, no not both at the same time, and you´d think he learned the value of sight after his first endavour, but a year later he poked the other one out in similar ways. You should see his picture, what a human misery, a stain of human kind, this from years of abuse of hashish mostly but ofcourse some other shit problably too. Most of the people there I have met that have come out reasonnably ok after f.ex. 20 yrs of drug abuse are the ones using stimulants like amphetamine, then I mean reasonnably, not like nothing took place. So beware it could sneek up on you, 40yrs old still using, none of your old buddy´s left, there comes a time when one has to deceide after a few years of having a lot of fun and goofing around, IS THIS WHAT I WANT TO DO , IS THAT WHAT I WANT TO RISK BECOMING. There are other things in life that can be very uplifting. I wasn´t any angel nor am I telling you to do anything, couldn´t care less, I am out for my self and my family solely nowadays, think of your self first hand do what you think is best for you.

I supplement my workout with a small amount of marijuana when available, but I keep the intensity down as the heart is much more vulnerable while high.

Not "more vulnerable", it just increases heart rate

Yes. What I meant was that overly intensive activity could be dangerous as it puts too much stress on the heart muscles.

Man are you screwed up...you think that hash screws up more people than anphetamines?
Hash has no LD50 bro, crank will kill ya. I've seen many, many more screwed up, (or dead) totallly worthless people on crank than any other drug out there, its a huge plague. On the other hand, there are millions of people functioning all around you that indulge in many different forms of THC recreation and do just fine.
