Dr. prescribed prednisone (corticosteroid) for inflammation. Using testosterone......

My Dr. prescribed me 5 mg of prednisone a day long term for a medical condition to reduce inflammation. Prednisone is a cortico steroid but does the complete opposite of anabolic steroids. It creates more cortisol in the body and that is something we don't want. It causes many to gain fat and water weight and is very catabolic on muscle tissue. I used it at a high dose for a month a few years ago and lost 20 pounds of muscle in a month due the prednisone having strong catabolic effects.

My question is, Would using testosterone and other high androgens take away the affects of prednisone. What I mean by this is will it take away the affect of what the prednisone is trying to do and what it was prescribed for by decreasing inflammation in the body. I have done research and by using high androgens such as testosterone, it will lower the cortisol levels in the body. That is a good thing for someone not using prednisone for a health issue but would it be a good thing for someone using prednisone for the health issue.

Will using testosterone with prednisone affect what the medication is trying to do. I am a little confused on this issue because cortisol reduces inflammation and this what prednisone does but will using high doses of androgens take away the inflammation reducing effects of prednisone.

I have cycled anabolics on and off over the years and would like to use them while using the prescribed prednisone for my medical condition to reduce the catabolic effects of the prednisone but don't know if it will interfere of what the prednisone is trying to do.

I'm also curious about this myself. I have MS, and had to do a pretty extreme cycle of cortico steroids for my first relapse last year. 1000mgs of solumedrol IV for 5 days, then a huge prednisone taper starting at 60mg ed for 3 days, then 50mg ed for 3 days, all the way down to 10. I didn't really gain much fat because I kept my diet in check pretty good, but I went from squatting 405 to barely able to do 315x3. The sides were rediculous though. Got terrible acne all over my back, the most disturbing dreams and insomnia and crazy mood swings. Sometimes I felt GREAT though haha.

Yes androgens can dramatically lower cortisol. DHEA is known to do it very effectively and Trenbolone does as well.

But of course there's no point in taking prednisone if you're trying to lower your cortisol.

Exercise also lowers cortisol levels. So does this mean we shouldn't exercise while using prednisone. Some have to take corticosteroids for life for medical conditions so does this mean they shouldn't exercise to get the effects of corticosteroids. What is someone has low testosterone levels and has to go on trt. Androgens also decrease cortisol.

Just get something prescribed that does not cause this issue.
Prednesone is a tier 2 anti inflammatory . There are lots of tier 2 ones and also tier 3 and 4 ones. They all are different and have different side effects. Just get on one that doesn't have that side effect.
