domestic vs. import

shread

Imports are cheaper than domestic sources. Their gear is easier to obtain, thus the lower prices. My question is: why order domestic? Are domestic parcels less likely to be intercepted? Is the Postal Inspector (domestics) less likely to scrutinize your pkg. than Customs (imports)? I've already received "THE" letter from Customs and ignoring it does seem to be the best course. Is the Post. Inspec. so lax? Anyone with any first hand experience please reply.

My buddy received 1 of 2 import packages in 8 days. Unfortunately, he is still waiting on the second one and it's been 14 days. Hopefully things will work out soon.

Yes generally speaking you have a better chance of getting your parcels through the domestic mail as there is no customs inspecting packages.

They can't search domestic packages(through US mail) without a warrant. They can search anything they want in customs for no reason at all. If they intercept a foreign incoming package they can opt to notify local authorities at the destination of the package and set up a bust, or they can send you a letter indicating the confiscation of the AS which means loss of money unless you're an idiot and claim it...in which case you'll be busted. Domestic mail is private. Unless they know what's in the package to obtain a warrant they can't search it...and if they do find something somehow without a warrant the evidence is useless in court.

I dont worry about domestic, but foreign, i hold my breath.

Well I have never ordererd from across the ocean, but I would Imagine that a domestic would be a lot quicker and draw a lot less attention to you and your package....The extra money is worth it to me.

Bro, Think about it. A domestic package is like sending flowers to mom or your wife, or a sending a birthday present to your relatives. A foreign package is subject to inspection ALWAYS.
Here there has to be a reason for the postal inspectors to do so.

I am more than happy to pay the extra money and buy domestic.I think overseas is way too risky.I have been taking president Bush's advice "BUY AMERICAN".

I'm one of the few people that prefer foreign. Here's the reasons why:

1:Cheaper

2:If your dealer goes down there's less chance of you going down. I'd rather get a customs letter than a DEA agent at my door.

3:Depending on location, foreign gets to me faster. I'll usually get the package within a week if sent foreign. Whereas with domestic it's 2 weeks at the least.

4:Foreign has a greater variety of PHARMACEUTICAL grade products. Nothing against the vet products, but when it comes to my body and health I like to use the best...

Didn't President Bush tell you that most of the domestic sources buy their shit from foreign sources anyway?:D

I'm too chicken to fool with imports. Here's a (only slightly paranoid) scenario for you--customs contacts the local PD via the address on your foreign package they intercepted & opened. Its within the realm of the possible that local PD after being tipped by customs COULD get a warrant if they so desired to search your house & find those other goodies you already have at home.

Also, by the time you figure that a much higher percentage of the foreign packages get intercepted, I'm not sure that you'd be saving much (if any) by trying to order overseas. I'd rather pay a little more up front & breath easier.

That scenario is very unlikely. You'd have a better chance of getting hit by lightning...

Hey my brother, you'd better reassess the odds. To ease MY paranoia, I'd like to ask what knowledge you base those high odds on.

Sorry bud, guess I don't understand your response to my question.Could you be a little more clear on what you're trying to say.

Most of the foreign sources that I've talked to have about a 3% seizure rate. That's much higher than being struck by lightning but quite reasonable.

I've ordered from the UK and other US-friendly countries in the past. The odds of seizure are slim but the prices are as high as domestic. The advantage is that gear is legal in many European countries (to one degree or another) so their selection is WAY better than domestic. They also tend to actually stock the product....most of my foreign deliveries have been quicker than domestic.

Foreign/customs letter. Domestic/hmmm...

Seizures are one thing. But search warrants are another. The odds that you'll be the only one who doesn't get a customs letter, but a DEA agent at your door instead is very high. Customs already has a high workload and it's much easier for them to send out a letter than to take legal action against you. And AS aren't that high of a priority. But to play the devils advocate I'll ask this question. If your domestic source goes down would you be scared? You better hope your source has some good encryption. More important you'd better hope that the authorities are satisfied with their catch and don't go out looking for more.
