TSO said:Use the three day a week layout. Unless you are an "advanced" lifter. If you have never run the system, don't mess with the 4 day a week program until you have used the 3 day a week program for at least a couple of years.
sopac said:Well i believe DC training is for the "advanced" lifter......its designed for breaking plateaus, but i guess for a "novice" lifter 3 day would be good.....it all depends on how well you recover. Also stretching is very important with the doggcrapp regime.
TSO said:I'm well aware of that, but too many people thing since they've done all of the M&F and Men's Health workouts provided over the last couple of years, they are advanced enough to try the 4 day program. According to Dante (DC himself) there are very few people who he personally trains with the 4 day. As far as I know David Henry is one of the few. If you can handle the 4 day routine now, you are doing the 3 day program correctly.

Varga said:If there is one thing about this routine that is spot on, having time to recover. Without the necessary recovery time no routine will work! That means cutting back on # of days training to 3 is freak in ideal, and next is the constant exercise rotation.
I have done a variation of DC in which I used exercise rotation and it works great, excellent gains in strength and mass. And yes, I do think that this routine or concept is best used for advanced ppl but intermediate can get some decent results as well.
sopac said:3 days make sense to me but ive been able to recover fine on 4, how many weeks would you go for before taking the 2 week "cruise"?

TSO said:Then you aren't going full out on the 3 a day program. Sorry.
sopac said:Well I train as far as I can without a partner, Any harder and i could definitely risk injuiry. I have a personal gym with only free weights, the gym is out of the question for me right now. I have been doing this regiment for about 7 weeks and I have had excellent gains so far. I guess I could give the 3 day a shot if thats what most people suggest, my strength gains have just been amazing so far.
