Does The Carb Up Phrase On A Keto Diet Mean You Can Eat Anything In Sight?

I am usually on a keto diet monday-friday. My carb up phrase begins on fridays at 6 pm and ends sundays at midnight. I was wondering if that means you can go on a weekend bulking phrase and eat anything like going to buffets, eating junk foods, etc and still not gain fat?
 
no it doesnt. limit your fats and increase your carbs but dont pig out.
 
The way I did it was a 36 hour carb up starting at noon on friday to midnight on Sat. Friday would be mostly high GI carbs and Saturday I would consume mostly low GI. I would try to keep the fat to a mnimum during this phase, but it's not easy after drooling all week. If I was going to eat crap I'd eat it on Friday and by Saturday my sweet tooth would be gone.

Good luck bro! I lost 15 lbs of fat in about 8 weeks. I just came off it 2 weeks ago. It's a pretty easy diet to follow, but it sure is nice eating carbs again.
 
The key for the carb up is to keep fat low. Its not a huge deal, but for optimal results you are best to go for high carbs and low fat.

Also, it sound slike your carb up is 54 hours - thats quite long. The longest i have seen recommended is 48, and I have seen guys do well, even better, with like a 24-36 hour one.

For the best references on CKDs, the diet board has some very good knowledge. I can't remember the dude's name but one guy over there who posts a LOT if very up on this stuff.

Also, read BodyOpus by Dan Duchaine. Then read "The Ketogenic Diet" by Lyle McDonald.

But in summary:

High carbs, low fat.
And shorten your carb-up phase.

for best results carb-up should be low fat, high carb, protein at about 1g/lb of bodyweight
 
deffinantly try to keep your fats low while increasing your carbs to avoid increased fat storage. just my two cents

what serge said...the best/most convient way to get
high quality/zero fat protein is protein powder
IMHO...the protein amount should be divided
throughout the day of course...

what i dont know is if a fast or slow acting
protein is currently being recommended during
the carb up...or if it even matters...
