Do you believe in ghosts?

Do you believe in ghosts or spirits? Good or bad ones? My supervisor told me today there was a ghost where we work and some of the things people have seen. I guess most people would say no unless they witnessed it themselves....boo

She gave me goosebumps with her ghost talk.

everything exists. - a brain cannot create ideas and things without them being seen or described, even if it is by a "Crazy person"

but let me ask you, is the crazy one the person who sees things, or is it the person who does not?

Ghosts of my past make themselves apparent on a regular basis. Oh how unfortunate I am

Oh yea. They are very common IMO. I have seen many crazy things in my life. Maybel some are more in tune to them. I have seen many crazy things for that matter and no it was not when I was on the wacky tobaci.

I want to have a ghost experience....I've had dreams that were close. The paranormal is fascinating.

I dunno...lol

I work with marine mammals see death/do necropsies where I work. The people I work with are all biologists...meaning they like proof of something's existence.

I will say when I first started working there, I was restraining an elephant seal and he started going downhill rapidly and I knew it was going to be my first death. The pen we were in got a really strange feeling in it all the sudden. I was completely drained by the time I left it. I remember the feeling distinctly because I kept trying to shake it and do the biologist part of my job and not the emotional. It took place months before she told me about the ghost.

I thought she was going to tell me the ghosts were sea lions and seals....lol

She thinks it is the old director who died at a rather young age. Apparently she loved that place and was really dedicated to the work on rehabbing animals there.

Her stories were interesting. After she told me, I almost fell in a pool when another girl startled me.

no i don't and i've worked in a VERY old mental hospital where patients were basically tortured, some killed themselves, and where some very very demented people stayed. i've been in the morgue, the tunnels, the old empty buildings, in the middle of the nite with only my flashlight and never saw anything out of the extraordinary. there are plenty of people with stories out there that say they saw ghosts n shit, some people i would trust with my life, but i never saw them.

my ex wife believed in ghosts. dakotah believes in spirits, i think

i believe in deja vu and having flashes of the future sometimes, as i have repeatedly experienced that throughout my life tho

man devasation you have some BALLS...i would never EVER be able to take being in half of the situations you were put in...i would get SO scared SO fast...

and sublime...the brain cannot "create" images?...let me ask you...what do you call a dream? is it not a sequence of created images in your mind?...the human mind is DEFINITELY able to create imagines...images we know and even those we believe to be supernatural...the brain is FAR more powerful than many people think...

how do you know a dream isnt real? a glimpse into another universe, or even you living an entire life in another universe and coming back to this one only remembering parts of it?

a dream is all a formation of things youv seen or expericned before anyway, you dont create never before possibly fathomed shapes or creatures in a dream

I didn't and to some degree still don't

However, my last ex claimed to see ghosts. We would walk into a house and she'd tell me things like "there's a ghost of a little boy that likes to hang around that corner" or go to the market and "that lady has the ghost of an old lady with her" etc..... I once saw something and said "what the fuck was that" a ghost she told me, I was always skeptical. One day, out of nowhere, the light bulbs on the stair way started blowing out. I would replace it and whithin hours, sometimes a day or two, it'd blow again. My windows would rattle at night, I'd hear foot steps of some one walking and sometimes running up and down the stairs, tapping on my window (second story) and all sorts of other creepy stuff that made me real scared to be home and specially try to sleep. She told me that a spirit had appeared in the stair case, for some reason it was attracted to me and wanted my attention. The light bulbs blowing out and the noises continued for several months, I continued to be scared. One day I decided to ignore it, I was not going turn around or feel scared every time I heard a sound, I was not going to think about "it" every time I felt scared. After a few weeks it was gone.

Was it real? Was it somehow all in my head? I don't know. However, I had not seen or experienced anything before I got with my ex, like Dev I've been all sorts of "spooky" places, and I have not seen or experienced anything since. Maybe it was all suggestive, maybe not.

Ok...this is the third time I tried to type this...I get a white page trying to post responses.. :fistfullo

That would be wild.

My supervisor says stuff like that. Locks to indoor pens have started to rattle. A door to a secured pen was swung open at the same time an animal who was thought to be heathy started crashing. Buckets are lined up in strange places. Maybe, there is a spirit there watching over the place. I know I felt something strange in that pen one day. I could not shake it and you can't describe it unless you feel it. Cold and heavy feeling.

I will spaz if I see something...lol

a dream is all a formation of things youv seen or expericned before anyway, you dont create never before possibly fathomed shapes or creatures in a dream

well tests have been done to show that the brain is active as hell when people have dreams and pretty inactive (except for 24/7 processes) when you do not have a dream 1 night...that said it is pretty obvious that dreams are generated in the mind of a person and is not a whole other "LIFE" lol...

and not necessarily...do you recall EVERY part of your dream when you think about it? no...you only remember the parts that you are FAMILIAR with and things you've seen before...but there are things you see that you just cannot explain in some dreams...especially NIGHTMARES...my theory is that ghost "sightings" as those described by sorearms' psycho ex...is like having a nightmare while you are awake...with these images being created in your mind when you are in a spooky place alone at night...of course when the setting in your mind = SCARY. your mind can play tricks on you and create images that correspond with its surroundings to make you feel scared and like you hear/see things...guarantee you that if you go to that same "creepy place you saw a ghost" in broad daylight with a big group of your friends you wouldn't see or feel anything...why? because you are comfortable...you are no longer in that uncomfortable/scary environment where your brain can generate objects in your mind to cause DARE I SAY IT...hallucination to see these "ghosts"...that is why i think devastation has not seen anything...he has been working around scary places for lonnnnnng time he is used to them and has no fear in the back of his mind of these "ghosts" and so his mind does not create these frightening images in his head...even if there IS an ACTUAL noise and not one generated in your mind...chances are it is a small animal or something rumbling in the bushes...but once again your fright makes you THINK "OMG something is here" even if it is a cute bunny hopping home lol...wow i just gave a deep thought of stuff...should write a book or something :verygood: ;)

You must spread some Karma around before giving it to 1_more_rep again.

I remember Div participated in a thread like this and acted like a fucking hell slayer or something. Those who want to believe will and they usually no logic that will change their mind that their experience was real. Kind of like religious people.

excellent point...i do beleive in them. have had a couple in my home...i live near buriel grounds from Chumash indians...up the street... :worried:

I've experienced some weird stuff but never saw a ghost. I won't say it's possible or not. I have never seen GOD but I believe.

people will believe what they want to believe.

If they "see" it then it is their truth, their reality.

I dont believe in ghosts, spirts, gods, etc.

No. I don't believe that there are any sorts of spirits or supernatural beings. Consciousness, in my opinion, is strictly the result of organic brain function.

man i wish division was here to make a 2999999999999999 page thread about psychoanalysis about people who have seen ghosts.. he knows too b/c he took intro to psychology in college!

no i don't in fact someone i was getting to like told me this weekend they had seen a ghost.....bye bye freakshow

In short, yes...I do believe in ghosts and demons. I've had plenty of my own experiences and wrote of them extensively in a thread with Div just before he left. Bump it up/check it out if you want, but everything I described was real and happened to me.

ghosts no, demons yes.....you only see shit like that if you mess around with things you shouldnt be messing around with.

I believe in both, but your right...a person should not meddle with things of this nature.

im stopping here, because your just bullshitting. you arnt a dream researcher, or a brain scientist. even if you were theres still no way to prove that you only remember things youv seen before. maybe thats because thats all you see

and also part of my point was, when you see things "you havnt seen before" you are getting a glimpse into other universes where such things exist. all things we can fathom exist, even if they only exist in the universe we have created within our own minds

dreams are uncontrolled subconscience thoughts... they aren't a portal to another world!

You obviously have never experienced a hallucination then.

how do u know a hallucination isnt just you seeing things that are unable to be seen sober.

thats what a hallucination is isnt it?

how do u know they arnt there even while sober, but just cannot be detected by you in your "normal" state

You don't have to be high to hallucinate (Buddhist nirvana for example). Hallucinations are personal for everyone. They are heavily influenced by preconceived and external factors. They are formed from what we already know and only what are minds are able to construct. I doubt you've ever had (or realized that you have - which is key) any conscious hallucinations because you would probably understand a lot better.

I think most of paranormal/ghost/religious/alien encounters are pure hallucinations. They are so real it's sometimes impossible to convince other wise.
