My bro's and I always bake the finished product to ensure sterility,
Does anyone not do this?
Of course we filter also.
And for those that don't have you ever gotten an absess or infection?
I've also heard baking may degrade the product potency but we have alsways practiced "better safe than sorry", opinions?...

i didnt the first time and it was fine.......second time i did just because. i dont think it is necessary

Benzyl Alcohol

Ahhhh! Yes that will sterilize and kill most microbes. It will also dissipate into the air if left uncovered but as the alcohol level drops the bacteria level raises in line with the resistance of the little buggers.

Cooking it? Funny that some microbes can still survive in a 250 degree environment for some time. AS with being in Benzyl Alcohol. Bleach will kill them but that is NOT an option. You’re body should be able to cope with the little bit of bacteria that gets in; hopefully.

How about filtering? What is the size of the filter? If it is small enough you may be keeping the bacteria out by filtering. They are .45u pore size.

Here is an excerp from a web site:
To assess the microbiological population in water, one must trap existing micro-organisms on a .45u filter in a specified volume of water. The filter is then placed directly on nutrient agar. This will render a numerical value of colony forming units (CFU) per volume of water. Identification of isolated colonies on the membrane filter can then proceed by standard microbiological methods.

Hope this help some for everyone!
