Do women actually like bodybuilders?

it's the same equation as guys with chicks. a girl with either big tits or a pretty face will always get alot of attention even if she's dumb as a bag of rocks and farts in public (actually thats a plus). same with a guy who's either built or very good looking. doesnt say anything about long-term prospects for a relationship, but its gets you laid

i was reading somewhere some article how women like to fool around with and hook up with built and in shape looking guys; however, they prefer to marry guys who are sort of like the Ray Romano type of guy in the show who will worship them b/c they cant get anything else and practically have to beg their wives for sex.

that's not been my experience. I've been in competition shape and i've had 20 pounds of excess shit around my waist and everything in between. if anything i've found it easier to pick up women when i've been out of shape. way too many women find a bodybuilder intimidating.
i know it's very subjective but here would be my list for what attracts women:
1(a). sense of humor - i know its been overstated in the past, but if you can make a women laugh you can get her in bed. the only caveat is that some guys think because they can make their buddies laugh then they can get women. not true. guys have a lot more basic and vulgar sense of humor, u got to be clever with women.
1(b). good looking - i had too many women admit to me that they only dated me because (at first) they thought i'd be nice to look at and fuck. i'd say about half the women i've met will fuck a good lucking guy that comes on to them regardless of personality at least for a while. the other half have to like him first (see 1 a)
2. money - they'll never admit it but true, but not solely for what money can buy. many women seek security and responsibility in a man. financial success indicates discipline, self-confidence and maturity. it tells the woman you're not just an overgrown boy, instead you are truly a man. still most women do like to be spoiled, and the things money can buy are like WD-40 on women's thighs, if you want her to do something then buy her something. it doesn't make them whores, it just means that they are smart enough to know that we value our money very highly, if we'll spend some of it on her, then it tells her we value her too.
3. manhood - size does matter, always has and always will. still its like the chick with perfect tits that keeps using her teeth during blowjobs. it does not (alone) make for good sex. i think a big pole is #3 because when women have felt mine during foreplay before we've done it the first time, it's always move things along more quickly. if u don't know how to touch a woman and get her off a big dick won't keep her coming back...but if you just want to fuck her a couple of times and then move on to the next one, what do you care? (caution on this one: women do talk about everything, if you live in a town of less than 100,000 people u better learn how to be good in bed).
4. build - and i don't mean fitness. I'm 6'2" tall, wear a 52 long jacket, my ass is measures 10inches more than my waist. Being somewhat tall, broad shouldered and not having a flat ass has been all most women have looked at in my build. it may sound like i'm conceited but i'm not. my parents gave me these traits so why should i be proud? happy yes, proud no.
I learn years ago to cover up most of my body. being really fit is a plus with most women as long as you don't look like that's all you think about. most women i've been with wouldn't fuck an ugly bodybuilder with a dull personality no matter how good his body looked. however being really fit and dressing well does attract women especially if can cover the above items...
5. then there's a whole lot of other things but they don't matter that much. women like these things but they're not deal-breakers and the order they fall does vary a lot in my experience:
complexion / coloring
straight white teeth - always hard for me cause i'm a lifetime skoal dipper
adventurous and/or a risk taker - someone to try new things
assertive or passionate
creative
nonchalant
intellectual
physically capable and/or athletic
popular with other guys
fun to party with and/or can dance well
married
nice car/stereo/etc...

I think male or female - we are all attracted to really hot looking people - how you define "hot" can be different for each person - but probably the thickly overdeveloped national level competitor type, male or female is attractive in a "you can't help but stare" sort of way. But if you are going to spend any amount of time w/ anyone, unless you are just really shallow (and there are people who are completely satisfied w/ being w/ hot people but have a destructive relationship w/ them) you generally need to like that person as well - i.e. eventually the "hotness" may just wear off due to the person's attitude, maintenance, focus, etc. For ex, if you are a girl dating a really fantastically built BB, you may get put in 2nd place to 1) time in the gym 2) roids 3) attitude 4) self-love / focus on how he looks. Or not - some of the hottest BB's I know are also some of the most giving and wonderfully grounded people I know. Others are little party monsters who are just annoying to be around after a while.

Just had another thought about BBs -- we often forget that the "look" that everyone imagines when you say "bodybuilder" is someoen who is jacked up & ripped at 3% and all oiled up on stage flexing. That's how they look maybe 3% of the time. 20% of the time they may look pretty good, lean, etc. And then there's "off season" and "bulking time". Again, raw generalization, but for both male & female competitive BB's that "off season" phase usually means adding 20 lbs and wearing the "fat clothes". Depends on if you like that look as well.
I guess what I'm sayign is that its one thing to be attracted to "the look", but with it comes the lifestyle and dedicated BB's (competitive or not) will either place you 2nd to that lifestyle (gym, diet, etc.) or if you embrace it too, then the look is just part of it.

I do believe that many women don't know how much work and dedication goes into getting big and muscular. I've heard most women like guys who can commit to a relationship and I personally think that bodybuilders are some of the MOST commited people in existance.
Unless you're a pro, you only have about 2hours or so a day of training and the rest is all diet. I'm sure a bodybuilder would be able to fit a relationship into their lifestyle with eaze. (so no excuses that they only think about themselves 24/7)

They prefer average+ and/or the "Men's Health" type. Most girls I know will make fun of Ronnie Coleman or any other freak. Think about it. It's not that easy to buy nice men's clothing when you're 6' and 250lbs. If you cant dress properly, your chances are going down seriously....

Maybe it's my attitude, but ever since I've gotten bigger and thicker I have had to beat women off with a stick (and that's before they have sex with me! j/k). Plus, when I' hooking up with girls they almost always comment on how sexy my muscles feel and how they love my body.

Women do like bodybuilders, just not the ones that have taken it too far. I'm beginning to think that most male bodybuilders (myself included) have a body-image problem. That is, they have a warped image of what their own physique looks like and therefore take it too far.

I grew up in the south east and I will say there are a lot more people into bodybuilding back there than out here on the average. More of the bigger farm boy athletic builds. A lotta the pros and really hardcore bodybuilders are out in Cali but on the average I would say that bodybuilding is not as popular. Up in NYC and NJ areas i noticed there are a ton of jacked people up there. Also, I noticed in Miami it was pretty popular as well. My cousins live up in Penn and them and a lotta their friends are into lifting.

I dont think the vast majority of people know how difficult it is to get to the upper echelons of muscular develoment and/or low bodyfat
and as far as the skinny tanned cali surfer type...well, it just fits what they do. those guys need to be light, they burn hella calories in the ocean paddling. they are constantly exposed to the sun and they dont eat very much. to each thier own.

You just gotta see it from a West Coaster's perspective. Every now and then you'll see some dude walking down the strand that looks like the Michelin man and everyone just sorta shakes their head and takes bets as to how much juice he's on. It's just not attractive to see someone with bacne and water retention that weighs 250lbs and is 5'10". thewanderer is right-on. It's just not a popular look out here, but I've noticed back east it is. Didn't mean to offend because that look, popular or not, is extremely difficult to achieve.
theres a difference between us with very nice physiques and great muscle mass and people like jay cutler and coleman.

If you have any sort of physique, people look at you because people are people watchers by nature. From the look, different people will assume different things about that person - they may think they are snooty or "on juice" or just be jealous. Some may come up & talk to you about it, some may ignore you for it, some may just gawk & make a comment because it is an extreme from wherever they are coming from - e.g. fat chick, fat guy, anorexic chick, muscle bound guy, hottie whatever.
I recently had a guy ask if I might be interested in him even if he has skinny calves & ankles. I thought that was a strange statement because he's a good looking guy who hits the gym regularly and is very meticulous about his own lifting. But he apparently assumed immediately that I had an issue w/ skinny calves. Of all the stuff in the world, I'd like to think I'm a little less shallow than that.
