Do females lose hair on steroids too?

My husband has been using steroids for 3 years. He knows what he's doing so I allow it. However he has lost his hair quite a bit. When I first met him he had a full head of hair and now he barely has any
My question is if I was to try steroids if the same thing could happen to me. My husband said that it wouldn't because females have different hormones. But reading online i get different answers
