DL PR exposes new weak link..

455 DL went up pretty nice this morning. Abs and back were fine and the lockout was no problem. However at 475 I couldn't get my hips to rotate and/or lift off the floor. I felt that if the weight was a foot higher it would have been no problem.

My squats reveal the same weakness close to parallel and below. If I can rotate them the weight easily go, if not forget it, I'm done.

I need to work on the area specifically, can someone offer new movement to address it? Bfold or Needsize? Thanks!

Taking 475 after 455 may be a major part of the problem. I make large jumps when I go for a 1RM. Form, box squats, GM's, pull throughs, rev hypers, hip work, etc...

Remember...time and trial and error...

Ohhh...and maybe try doing some Dimel Deadlifts...

I am doing my homework now and I appreciate the help. With this information I may just revamp my style for the winter. Maybe give the 'westside' a go.

Bfold, what would be 'hip work'...

Any kind of adductors, abductors, etc... Those machines actually are good for something...

Use 35lbs plates instead of 45 to get some practice at a lower stance, this helps with the bottom part as your body need to strengthen the muscles usedin that part of motion more than it normally would...

I give the machines a try and Lord, sounds good I start doing that now before my next scheduled routine change.
