depression

I was hoping to hear from a few people who have tried various types of medication and how they worked for them. I have tried paxil, zoloft, and prozac and maybe more but can't remember. None worked for me. Any input appreciated.

Tried paxil, prozac, wellbutrin, busiprone, and xanax. Though the later two aren't specific anti-depressants they can releive problems. The only thing that has worked for me is amphatemines...more specifically adderall. Paxil was living hell. Prozac had no effet, wellburtin I just couldn't sleep and buspar and xanax made me constantly tired and lazy, though they are effective. Give me some speed and life is peachy. Adderall has been the best.

How long have you been on any one of these meds? Minimum t requires at least 2-3 weeks before noticing any resluts. Also these are all SSRI's. Have you tried the tricyclics? I also noticed that when of that an estrogen blocker / aromatase stopper like Liquidex helped my mood significantly. I will always use Liquidex post cycle now.

Unfortunately it isn't post-cycle depression. It's an on-going problem and one that has had me nearly forced into hospitalization. I will hopefully being seeing a doc next week - I have some names to check out. I didn't want to consider meds in the first place due to my bad luck with them in the past but now I am starting to think it is very necessary. What exactly is adderall if I might ask?
I was on each med for a while. I wasn't taking myself off or anything, it was the doc who eventually said it isn't working.

sh*t...sorry to hear that bro...you DO know that steroids will enhance this condition though, right?in any case,i will ask around...you bro Big Andy69 knows a thing or two about aderall...---fyi---you'll pull through bro...

I have been on amitrip/perphen for quite a number of years, and it has worked very well for me.Unfortunatly, it's not very popular
because it's an older drug combo ,and the newer compounds are much safer and more effective (so they say).I tried paxil for a while, and felt horrible.Good luck.

Nathan, DBT's right, I've used adderall.

I used light doses (10-20mg)

I can say that it put me in a very good mood but coming off was bad, I would become paranoid and snap at everyone.

It's extremely addictive IMO. Considering what you go through, I don't think adderall is an option.

Try L-tyrosine, it's a supplement but it works extremely well. It's hard to find in Canada but I can give you my Powerdrive so you can give it a try.

this might seem far fetched but....

have you tried l-tyrosine in gram amounts(3+)

inositol has some effect in grams amounts as well

da big thinker - thanks and I know I sam not a good candidate for AS. Actually though, it helps most of the time - a cycle gives me something to look forward to and being on is fun.

Andy - I'll talk to you soon I guess.

Thanks everyone else, though I'm starting to doubt that anything natural will be of much help.

Nathan, Give me call now if you'd like..and there's nothing natural about l-Tyrosine, it's actually not legal for sale in Canada.

re: Tricyclics

Imipramine, clomipramine doxepin, amitriptline are antidepressants ut also have anxiety blocking properties. I have been on Imipramine for 17 years. When it worked it was like a switch turning off everything that made me miserable wo feeling drugged out. The SSRI's are what doc always go first to but are not the olution for many like the older proven tricyclics.
