I'm still trying to perfect my box squat form...still needs alot of work but i guess its better than it used to be

Had a solid day though

140 + light bands 9x2

someone mentioned I might have the bar too low on my back... what do you guys think?

when i say pr i just mean like pr singles...not maxes or anything
just the most weight i've done for a speed single

I like to take a 1 or 2 pretty heavy singles every few weeks

nope...never thought about that. I go by feel if that makes any sense. I dont usually have a lifting partner on squat day so it makes it nearly impossible to time myself acurately

got any form critque for me lady spatts?

You're rocking forward and using your quads, but you are doing a MUCH better job of keeping your back tight! I can tell it's a weight thing because you don't do the rocking thing in the lighter set.

I asked about timing because I was thinking about doing it for fun...I go by feel too. I wake up one Saturday and suddenly a weight that used to feel opressive is feeling bouncy...then I know it's time to move up.
 
no i have not...i will try that next week...well the week after. Contest next week
 
Yep....hips and hams. Have you ever tried box squatting with a mini doubled around your knees?

It's normally used to help recruit the hips and force the knees out, but it also helps to keep from rocking forward because it's hard to rock and push out at the same time.

Like I said, you don't do it at lighter weights, so it's a strength thing.
 
You are losing you're arch just before you touch the box, I can see your back round a little. You are doing everything else really well, I think you need a little more hamstring flexability to be able hit parallel with a good arch. It looks like just before you get there your butt and back start to curl, from what seems like your hamstrings not being able to stretch any more.

i dont have any new form advice. spatts and IL hit the nail on the head.

i like the idea of testing 1 or 2 singles with the band......... i may give that a shot.

thanks for the ideas guys

cheesecake I did that second angle to make sure my knees where pushing out and not caving in. I never realized the faces I made on squats LOL
