Back at it again today for another tough one. bearrito was to learn the joys of box squatting...and with bands. He had a pretty good one as I increased the band tension once again. I love/hate those things...lol

Box Squats
297 plus heavy and light bands, choked once on bar
8 sets of 2 reps, 45 sec rest between sets

Speed Deadlifts
345 x 1 x 3 sets, 60 sec rest
415 x 1 x 3 sets, 60 sec rest

Pull Throughs
heavy band x 15 reps x 2 sets
heavy and light band x 15 reps x 2 sets

Rev Hypers
mini band x 10 reps x 3 sets

Seated Calf Raises
90 x 25 reps x 4 sets...20 sec rest

Atlas Stones
185 x 1
320 x 1

All in all...not too bad. I'll let bearrito post his weights and what all he did...and how they felt when he signs back on tomorrow...

hey bfold, i always watch strongman comps on tv whenever they're on, and judging by the weights you throw around on the atlas stones event, i think you would do really well, maybe even win. i was just watching the dutch strongest man the other day, and the heaviest stone there was 160 kilos. which is 352 pounds, and i believe only two of them got 'em up. so to me, your 320 is mighty impressive!
 
looking good as always...

one thing though. when you sit on your box it looks as if your lower back rounding..it may just be because your tired, or it could just be the way the video makes it look,but i thought i'd throw that comment in.
 
Forgive me...it is late and I just got back in from a little "party"...lol...

SAGAT: Thanks...I hope to get a full set of stones for Christmas, or earlier, this year. I have done a 404 stone before and think I could get as much as a 430...maybe. Who knows really till I do it... Strongman is a sport where it is a "show me" type of thing. It doesn't matter what you do in training or what you look like you can do...it only matters what you can do on contest day...

Deciever1: It probably is. I can not maintain a tight arch and go that deep. Even at 14" or so...it is still below parallel for me. A lot of my events are done with a rounded back though...or completely standing.

That day was lots of fun for me. I had never done box squats with bands before, so it was quite an experience. I have used bands with b fold on squats and bench now, and I think I like them. They definitely change things. I would post the weights I used for the different exercises, but they are small in comparison to b fold's, so I'll save myself the embarrassment, lol.

Weights don't matter...how hard you trained and the fact that you didn't back down from anything...even the 320 stone...is what counts!!!

i have the same problem.... except mine is at like 12 inches because im a midget compared to you. Mine's a flexibility issue.... but since most of your events are dont like that, i guess it wont hurt.
 
I'm still not sitting back far enough though...need to be thinking about that when I am squatting...

Hard to sit back that far, use my hips to stand me up, with my stance not being super wide...
