Daunte Culpepper = Out for season

From the Fanball.com:

Vikings head coach Mike Tice confirmed Monday that quarterback Daunte Culpepper is done for the season. Tice said Culpepper has a torn ACL, MCL, and PCL in his right knee. The swelling in the knee is still significant, Tice added, so there could be more damage discovered once doctors are able to examine it closer.

Doctors and surgeons will have to tell us what this means in terms of a timetable, but coming back from such a catastrophic injury before next year's training camp seems very unlikely. Culpepper's mobility is a big part of his game, however, and his ability to move around in the pocket and scramble will definitely be a question mark.

If you guys have Culpepper in a fantasy league, pick up Brad Johnson. Johnson was pretty nasty in Tampa Bay and has plenty of weapons around him to do some serious damage, especially considering the Minnesota defense allows plenty of points, perfect for "garbage time" fantasy points.

If you have Culpepper in a keeper fantasy league, don't drop him. Wait until you are supposed to announce who you are keeping to determine whether or not he will be back next year.

This could be a career ender for Culpepper. A big man that relies on his mobility tearing his knee this bad will be hard to come back and be the same. I honestly don't know why he was performing so poorly this year. It can't be because of Moss. Daunte had several decent games without him last year.
