ok cycling creatine i herd that is the best way to get gains on it and i have been takin for a while and gonna try cycling so just how do i go about it(how long do i get off for)?? thanks alot guuys please post comments...

When I cycle creatine I like to go on for 4 weeks and off for at least another 4 weeks. I have had some friends that do an 8 week on and 4 week off but it seemed like they lost more of the gains than I did. For the off time, I would wait at least 4 weeks.

Now, in all the time I've delt with supplements, I've always heard of people cycling creatine and personally, I've never seen any scientific data or at least a good excuse from a creatine user as to why creatine should be cycled.
Creatine doesn't affect your hormone levels, like prohormones or AAS, so why should you cycle it? It affects ATP synthesis, helping the user to have increased muscle energy and more strength, which leads to more fulfilling workouts and better gains. Not to mention, it acts as a muscle cell volumizer, helping to keep water within the muscle cell so you can grow. Why would this need to be cycled?
For me, when I'm training hard, I stay on creatine. That could be months on end. It makes no difference in my book. Not to mention, I don't take a high dose. I think all you need to worry about getting in there is 5 grams every day. That will maintain peak creatine muscle saturation levels.
Any how, that's just how I feel. And if anyone does have any studies supporting the cycling of creatine, I'd be very interested in reading them.

well i dont know to much about it but i herd that it is the best bet because when u first start takin creatine u get big gains then your body adapts to it and dont see many gains then u stop and start over again with loading fase and everything and get another big gain to keep u growing but i dont really know it just made sense to me ...

I've read that the protein receptors will downregulate after a while. I can't remember where I read this so it probably won't be much help to you. I have no proof but if you look at the way the body works it makes sense. The body has many homeostatic mechanisms to maintain homeostasis. Your body makes creatine on it's own and if you supplement with creatine then it will downregulate to compensate for the increased creatine that you are supplementing.
