Curiosity Question...

I would like to know, especially from personal trainers who have a lot of experience with women and even those who've been in the bodybuilding business for a while, if these are typical, or average results for a woman. It's just a question I got curious about and really want to know, here goes:

I've been lifting since March 2000 (so 2 years next month) but never kept track of my results or got on a serious cutting diet til August of this past year. I am 100% natural, have never used nor plan on ever using AS. Here is what I've found that I've accomplished in the past 5 months.

-Went from 22% body fat to 17% body fat (so I averaged a rate of 1% body fat loss per month).

-Gained 5 lbs of muscle mass (so a rate of 1 lb per month).

It's just that after reading others' results that I'm beginning to think my results are not typical for a natural and I just want to know from the vets and veteran personal trainers if my results are atypical. Thanks in advance for the responses. I'm really serious about this. :)

I"m not a trainer, but I think "typical" depends on if that group of people we are talking about are serious and consistent about what they are doing. I dumped 20 lbs & 8% bf in 4 months for a competition doing nothing but clean eating, cardio & training. I even pulled of dropping 10 lbs in a month to go to Cozumel - all w/ diet, cardio, training.

I think on this board there is a lot of focus on results gotten from AS and we forget about the really killer results that can be gotten from just plain old clean eating, diet & cardio. Guess what? That's my challenge. I want to do a show in Aug -- I basically gotta dump 20 lbs by April. Can I do it? I'll let you know in April. What is my trainer having me do? Eat clean, cardio & training. Pretty complex huh?

But I think for people who are serious about their goals, you are probably typical to better than most! The best part is that those slow, deliberate losses will reward better than quick, large losses with bigger rebound potential.

"we forget about the really killer results that can be gotten from just plain old clean eating, diet & cardio". Nuff said! Keep up the good work, though don't expect to make that rate of progress long term.

This is not an unrealistic or uncommon result for a women. What IS uncommon is the fact that you DID it. There lies the catch 22. Most women would view this as "incredible" and in some respects it is. But should it be??? Nope. Not really. And even many more would not have taken the long term approach that you have.

Please don’t take this the wrong way. Your due MUCH credit, my hat's off to you, and I'm sure your efforts will be respected among the board members. But, from training a few ladies and advising many more, this is not an uncommon experience given proper guidance and sufficient internal motivation.

I have been trying to raise the level of expatiation that not only men have towards women, but more importantly, raise the bar that women have towards themselves.

Cheetarah get's my Koodos of the week award.... (not that it means much LOL)

Thanks bunches! Nothing taken the wrong way at all, that's exactly what I was looking for. I was just wanting to know basically how I am doing. I have only recently (since August), gotten really serious about trying to perfect this body and I was just wanting to know how my results compare so I have an idea of whether my results are on the mark or not. So everyone helped bunches, thanks! So I just know now to keep doing what I'm doing. I'm really in no hurry to lose the fat, just wanna take my time getting the physique I desire. Thanks everyone, I appreciate it, that helped a lot!

Oh and WarLobo, it does mean a lot to me to get kudos from you! I've been around long enough to know who is experienced and knows their stuff so it means a lot to me to get kudos from someone such as yourself. :D
