Would taking creatine do anything for me? The way I understand it is that creatine causes the muscles to retain water, thus making them appear bigger (correct me if I'm wrong). I also thought I had read somewhere that there is no evidence that creatine helps women at all.

Pros, cons?

i only see pros no cons unless you are trying to get cut does creatine make you hold extra water? in a round about way yes.... see creatine makes you hold more atp thus holding more glucose in the muscle....and with each gram of glucose (sugar) your body "holds" you "hold" 3 grams of water so ther eis your answer....i can't see one reason though it wouldn't work for a female

Does it cause bloating anywhere else in the body, ie retaining water or just in the muscles?

that depends on the person ...... i fyou are a female who gets bloated during her period then the likelyhood of this happening i would have to assume would be greater....not a hormonal change....just rather your body's ability to hold excess water.....then again its winter so try it well almost winter

and another thopught as to makeing you hold water the excess creatine and/or water could cause spilling over which would lead to sub Q retetion which would be easily counter acted with dandelion root or taraxatone hope this helps

oh one other thing i heard creatine is bad for diabetics but thats just one of those things i heard so not sure

jens, it can cause bloating, but you need to really increase your water intake too, and that will help.

The nice thing about this supplement is that it's forgiving. If you are on it a couple weeks and don't like the way it makes you feel, or the bad is out-weighing the good, you can just stop taking it, and within a few days the extra weight will be gone.
