I posted this on the training board. My legs are sticks which is what tends to happen if you are a server and are constantly running around like a maniac. I bought these 5lb ankle weights at sports authority and I put them on and had them on formy full 8 hour shift. My legs started getting sore towards the end but I figure this could atleast help my calves alittle or stop them from any further breakdown.

wish my legs would slim down! They are way too bulky for my taste.......

I'm a server as well

if the weights help you, by all means. but I would think that you would get use to them, and then you could be in the same situation as you are now? Just a thought.......

Oh def. I figure if anything these cant hurt. I want to eventually increase the weight up to 20Lbs a leg. They sell adjustable ones.

A friend of mine is a landscaper and walks about the same amount I do. I got the idea after looking at his calves and saw how impressive these things were. The only difference between me and him is the resistance he has from pusing a mower and walking up hills and stuff. So I figure why not add some resistance myself.

wouldn't those ankle weights ruin your JOINTS in the long run? I mean, I can see them kind of working out your legs, but also a lot of harm to your joints. if you want to work out your legs during work, why dont you a sandbag on your back? with all that leverage on your joints (I cant imagine you running with those things), I wouldn't want to know what the wear and tear those things can cause.

Shit Vic... my chicken legs could use some help. They ain't no fro legs... but still.

I've been working my legs for the past few weeks, and I thought if anything, walking around all day would help. I didn't think my legs would get smaller than when I was sitting behind a desk for 10 hours a day.

Damn it's nice to say that. Kind of even looking forward to the job. It's so different than what I'm used to.

Let me know how the weights work out for you bro.

I figured it would have helped me too but after a year of doing this my legs are less than normal looking. These are made for you to wear so I dont see any harm in it, its not like Im using large amounts of weight. It actually feels like I'm wearing heavy boots if anything.

I got the idea after seing those special shoes that are meant to build your calves. They look like a regular pair of shoes with weight plates molded into the front. That wouldnt go over too wel with my boss so I improvised.
