I joined this forum about a month ago and have been reading as much as possible, and looking at other sites searching and cross referencing all information that I can find. The amount of information in general is massive, discounting all the unfounded info, subjective info, and outdated stuff. So basically, I’m asking for help, since I haven’t exactly run across a case like mine.
While in my 30’s I was in a pretty bad car accident. I lost all the cartilage and tendons in both knees, and crushed the tibial plateau and had a compound fracture of the fibula in the right leg. All the tendons in my right shoulder were severed and the bicep was peeled from the bone. After numerous surgeries, recovering in bed for over a year and having to learn to walk again 3 times I consider myself lucky that I can even go to the gym, let alone throw some decent weight around. I’ll never be able to run again, but I can shuffle quickly if need be.
Up until the accident I was always incredibly athletic. Skydiving, surfing, wakeboarding, motorcycle racing, mountain climbing, whatever got me going, I did. In my free time, I went to the gym and worked out. I never weighed more than 130 pounds, but I was only 2% bf, and did a study where the doctors figured I was burning in excess of 12,000 calories a day. I ate constantly, anything I wanted and drank beer like it was going out of style.
Since recovering I have taken a desk job in the corporate world and packed on 20 pounds. At my heaviest I weighed 160 and was completely disgusted with myself. I modified my diet so its basically unprocessed food, lots of veggies, some meat, and protein shakes. I go to the gym 5 days a week and try to mix the exercises up every month or so. Recently some friends introduced me to the 5X5 workout and I loved that. I made some excellent gains in strength quickly, but there is only so much weight my joints will tolerate before I have to stop so I don’t wander around like a cripple the following day.
In late October a buddy gave me a vial of test c (400) and showed me what to do. The lean muscle packed on, the fat came off, and I felt…invincible. He however, did not explain that I needed a pct and when it was over, it sucked. I’m not sure what was worse, that my nuts shriveled up like raisins or that I was ready to cry like a bitch over the smallest things.
I have since scored 2 vials of test e (300) and ready to get back in the ring. My question to the people in the know is 2 fold. Would it be better to blast and cruise or would it be better to do a few cycles a year?
I would prefer to do a cycle, but am seriously confused with the pct. I looked into the power pct and other styles but really am not sure what I need. Can anyone offer some advice?
Thanks,
Low
