Computer Geeks - HELP! Porn site ever do this to you?

Apparently, during one of my many porn site explorations, I got some sort of virus or something. A site called Peep Free shows up on my Favorites list in Microsoft Explorer every time I reboot. I can delete it from the bookmarks, but every time I reboot it shows up again. How can I get rid of this once and for all?! Thanks in advance.

it must be set to be your home page. in your Internet Expoloer, go to tools - Internet Options and check the address of your home page. It probably wrote a script to make this site your home page so that every time you load it up you get that site. So just erase the home page and make it www.elitefitness.com

i'd try this if that doesnt work:

in your windows folder there is a file called WIN in a notebook file type.

go in there and make sure nothing is written to the right of the word RUN. if there is delete it and save the changes.

that will stop it from running everytime you reboot then you have to go and find the actualy fiel and delete it

Yeah but if you format your C drive everything will go bye bye including shit you want. Some porn sites will add their link to your favorites. I just delete them. If don't allow cookies and turn your security way up it should handle the problem, but having my explorer set to those settings is more a pain in the ass that just removing the porno "favorites" when they show up.

Start button, type "regedit", find the key and delete it... wooosh...its gone!

Start button... then select "run", type "regedit" hit OK... now look for the key that coresponds with the program and remove or delete it. Reboot the computer, and you should have no problem.... be very careful not to delete the wrong thing.... could cause system failure.

very thing has happened to me a couple of times

my computer/drive c:/ windows/cookies/

follow this route and delete all cookies or wade trough all the thousands of cookies you have stored there and find that particular cookie and delete it

I delete my cookies and temp internet files on a regular basis

A word of caution all your log-in sites will require you to login in again when you visit them again... so make sure you have all your user names and passwords in order

Don't format anything ... unless you know what your doing ...you can fuck up your drives
