Complimentary Foods for Complete Protein?

Spatts, right, it adds to it. The only thing I disagree with is the part about the complete animal. It isn't relavant. Eggs are a great source of protien for those trying to gain lbm just as you said, but not just because of their protein value. Just wanted people to understand their value extends beyond the high quality protien they provide.

Geez people, I wasn't talking just about aminos or protein or anything, just throwing out a little piece of trivia. "Isn't relevant?" Let's get a show of hands: Who knew that before I said it? It's just an interesting fact.

You wanna talk about irrelevant and pointless? Let's look at the thread topic.

When I was talking about foods that compliment each other, I was talking about vegetarian foods. I thought you guys would know what I meant. I guess I didn't word it well enough.

Thank you guys for your comments..

Actually, I knew what you ment, and addressed that issue in my post. Read it again. I'm basically pointing out the ineffectiveness of combining vegetarian foods in an effort to compensate for the lack of complete protiens, for vegetarian bodybuilders. The only successful vegetarian bodybuilders that I'm aware of were evo-lacto vegetarians. Meaning they consumed animal byproducts in the form of eggs & dairy products. Which contain the "evil" fats and cholesterol that many vegetarians seek to avoid, which also happen to be quite anabolic. They are also sources of very high quality protien. Combining incomplete protiens never yields high quality complete protiens. Its a weak substitute for the real thing.

I guess I'll just stick to what I'm doing now,.. chicken, eggs, fish and throw in the odd grain product and beans every now and then for variety.. Seems sensible. :)
