While training today I had a moment of insight. My friend earlier that day called and asked what I was doing and I said training, which for me is intense boxing and weightlifting. He workouts as well but he asked if I would be ever happy, and compared to the average man he said I would outlift, outfight, and outdrink them. Then he went on to say that compared to an average lifter I was much stronger pound for pound....
Then it hit me while working out with my roomate, Why Compare yourself to an average person??? Being a little better than average isn't what I am going for??? Why compare yourself to the median to make yourself feel better??? I don't want to be on the upper side of the curve, I want more.... I guess when it all comes down to is my comparison to myself and whether I really pushed myself to the limits.
I know I am ranting but does anyone else feel this way???
