Cokehead for a employee

when you have a cokehead for a employee they arent very responsible, now Im not talking about your rec user who bumps here and there,Im talking about a regular guy who even comes to work fucked up,Ive caught the little shit.

anyway due to this shit Im stuck with another wed night shift that will bore me to death and fuck my already shit sleep pattern.

I wish I could fire his punk ass but it would literally ruin his life once the reasoning came out because his girlfriends mom, whom they lives with is the head bartender,so I dont wanna fuck that part of his life up,plus I plan to be moving on to bigger and far better things in the next month or so and I can handle it for a little longer aslong as no other doorman gets hurt over him.

I dont hate him for it,he obviously needs help or maybe he is fine with it,who knows, I hate that my hands are tied because I refuse to ruin his life and relationship with his girlfriend.

all the other doorstaff know he is useless and understand why I cant can him,so I just give him shit things to do where he wont ever have to get involved.

last friday early on a fight broke out just inside the door and he stood there doing nothing while I tried to seperate the fight until the rest of the guys could get there from across the bar

I had a close friend who did that kind of shit. Basically manipulated and fucked up his family, backstabbed his friends and ruined a whole bunch of shit in his selfish warped sense of reality.

When it comes to addicts, I have no mercy. I wish I could be more sensitive to these situations, but events have skewed me.

maybe I should bring you in to be ruthless,I just cant do it,and I should because my safety along with my friends safety is on the line

then WTF are you waiting for?!?? if you are THAT sweet on the guy, why don't you confront him and tell him: he better not show up at work f'd up again and if he neglects ANY of his duties from now on, that he's GONE and you have no problem telling anyone why.

1 last chance and then when he f's up again, shit can him. him standing around instead of breaking up that fight COULD have ended much worse (it didnt', but it easily could which would cost the owner QUITE a bit in the end)

Dude, you owe it to yourself, the guys you work with, the owner of the bar, and the addict to cut him loose. He's only being encouraged by being able to carry on the way he is, especially if people know about it. As far as looking out for his gf or whatever, your intentions are good but she's being hurt by his behavior. Like you said, he just stood there and didn't do anything when you needed his help. If he gets into something while he's high, makes a bad call and hurts someone, every single person suffers and the owner could lose his bar. There's a bigger picture.

i wouldn't give a fuck. you don't have to be mean, but it is the right thing to say something. it will be a wake-up call at the very least.

if you ignore things they will NOT go away.

Jack his shit up one night dressed like a mugger so he doesn't know who it is. Take his license like in Fight Club, tell him if you find him coked up again, he's dead.

I'm serious too

the thing about coke (if youre addicted) is that you normally have to hit rock bottom before things get better anyway. your ignoring the issue is only slowing his inevitable fall, while putting you and your workmates at risk. give him a chance, sure, but then fire him if you have to - itll probably help him in the end

I dosen't bother me all that much unless they become unreliable or put them selves in a liability situation.I had one guy working for me,he was a skinny little speed freak and he was the best worker I ever had.Aslong as they can do their job properly I'm happy.Myself I like to be totally straight and dont play with substances at work.

what do you consider a cokehead? ..

imo a cokehead is someone who uses daily, and goes into work fucked up.

for now a nice talk will be coming, all my guys and myself know he isnt reliable so we dont even count him as there, but the owner really likes him,and hopefully with summer being slow I can work him out

i'd consider that a coke addict.. cokehead is someone who does it on the weekends..

Working with a coke freak can be fun. When I was a bartender back in college I worked with a guy that would go in the toilet and do his lines at midnight, every night. When he came out, he would clean the whole bar, haul cases of beer, make all the drinks, it was great!

I saw this guy last summer by chance on my way to the beach - he was making subs in a deli. Talk about an awkward meeting. College degree and making subs for $8/hr at 35 years old.

yup. I knew a guy. sold it. addicted to it for about 3 years.

thought he was the shit, drove a new CTS... handful of cash... place near the beach in Ft. Lauderdale.

Now he is a 26 yr. old loser w/NO money, no car, a bankruptcy, no job, he still lives w/mommy and daddy... oh yeah, and a felony conviction.

He still thinks he is the shit. lol.

if he had that kindof money back in the day he still has connections..

what the hell is your point?

my point is once you have those connections it isn't hard to make money back.. i know a kid locked up for 3 years just got out like 2 months ago..and already has 3 apartments and a brand new suv..

it all goes away eventually.
