My nephew recently asked me what the coolest thing about being a grownup is. Told him that was an easy one, by far the coolest thing about being an adult is that you get to eat whatever breakfast cereal you want.
For all you cutters and cereal lovers out there, here's an interesting little peice of info I discovered this weekend. My cheat day is Saturday. I have cereal in the morning, then eat pretty strictly until dinner. As I was cereal shopping, I was reading some nutrition facts on the boxes.
You know those honey sweetened oat or grain cereals that appear to be better for you than the Cocoa Puffs? Well check out the carb content. Most have double what the sugar cereals have. I noticed for example that the new Oreo Cookies cereal has 21 grams of carbs per serving. Thats half as much as Banana Nut Crunch and even less than regular raisin bran.
Now before all you hi/low GI guys take my head off, I am aware of the carb differences here. But remember, this is just cheat day stuff, not every day stuff. So don't kill me.
