CKD Training Split/Routine

I decided to post this topic in both the Diet Board and in the Training Board only because it seems like there are a few people who only visit one board or the other and I wanted to get the benefits of members from both boards. I have decided to use a CKD doing 6 days of low carbs followed by a one day carb-up.

I am not using the typical CKD training style though. Training half the body on the first day after the carb-up, and the other half on the second day, then the day before the carb-up doing a depletion workout. I am doing a normal bodybuilding split with a higher-type of volume. I am following the following routine…
DAY 1- chest
DAY 2- back
DAY 3- rest
DAY 4- shoulders, traps, calves
DAY 5- arms, forearms
DAY 6- rest
DAY 7-rest

The thing is that this type of training routine is really working well and I am not sure if I should change it to the standard CKD type training or not. What do you all think? I definitely understand the the muscle groups trained on Days 4 & 5 may have more chance of growth since theyre before the carb-load but then again Days 1 & 2 are immediately after the carb-load so both should reap the benefits of the carb-load.

What do you all suggest I do? Should I keep this type of training routine. I am using high-volume which I have always used and even though I am very sore the next day I am really making good gains considering. If you could please take a look at my CKD Journal in the Online Journal Board and critique my routine there or here.
HELP!!

:D:D

So wait lemme get this straight your saying that I am not lifting enough?

I thought 4x a week was enough on a CKD but from what the experts recommend they sem to be saying 3x a week...
CONFUSED!!

If I did change my routine I would do the following if this is alright…

DAY 1- chest, back, shoulders, traps
DAY 2- bis, triceps, forearms, calves, abs
DAY 3- rest
DAY 4- rest
DAY 5- rest
DAY 6- depletion workout
DAY 7- carb-up

CRITIQUE!

try this, this is my CKD split:

1. Legs
2. Chest, Delts, Tris
3. Back, bis
4. Rest
5. Rest
6. Depletion w/out and carb load after
7. Carb load

Trust me on this one mate, if you like training a lot then this will work. Having 2 days training and one depletion w/out just doesnt seem like Im training enough.

With this split your muscle soreness should be gone by the time the depletion workout comes around. Sore muscles don't carb up very efficiently, so you won't get the full benefits.

diamonddiceclay: To many days off lifting??? WTF, he's is on a CKD!!

Keep your sets low. 2 or 3 per exercise in the main workouts and train to failure, high intensity style.

Good luck mate.

you can easily lift 5-6 days a week on a ckd if you want to-you may not be as strong as a pro, but you'll be keeping yourself looking good

Oh yeah, and you can train 3 times a day 7 days a week...but will it be beneficial? NO! ...take reason, CKD is designed for usually 2-3 day post-carb-up training...if otherwise, gains are simply futile and infeasible for the normal bodybuilder.

I was wondering if I should make my carb-up 36 hours then? I mean if I am going to do the depletion workout Friday night around 4-5 PM should I start carbing RIGHT afterwards? And what about the whole idea of 40-50g of fruit 30 minuets before the workout begins? Is that a good idea or no?

Also if I start my carb-up around 4-5 PM on Friday should I end it around 4-5 PM the next day or continue it until Sunday morning when I start my low-carbs again?

HELP!!!

Depending on how miraculous you are w/ your carb-up. If you keep it clean then go the 48hrs,on the other hand, if you are not "clean" w/ the carb-up then limit it to 24-36hours.

Mr.X-

I was curious whether or not I should consumer around 40-50g of fruit around 2 hours I guess prior to my depletion workout?
