Cirque du Soleil and weightlifting

I saw Alegria lastnight. There was a whole scene where this monster dude came out and did a whole act with kettlebells. Very cool shit. He also squated some weird ass bar with a bunch of kettlebells hanging from chains. Good stuff.

Not sure how much weightlifting is involved, but most of them are gymnasts. I used to be one, and you would not believe how huge some of those mofos get, and I personally know for a fact, they never walked into a weightroom.

no doubt. they have to be strong as hell to do some of the shit they do, and most of them are cut like a mofo. but this guy that was doing the kettlebell stuff was just straight powerlifter.

The people who perform in the Cirque are amazing........it's a great show........I'd love to see it live.......

Live. it's an unbelievable show, very entertaining.

Where did you see it at? I can't remember the name of the Cirque that's here in Orlando but it was awesome. $70 a person but it's worth it.

Randall's Island, NYC. My company managed an event there in the VIP tent, so I got to see the show for free. Probably the coolest scene I will ever see in a live theater act: after a somber, sort of slow and quiet scene where the lead clown seemed to be doing some depressing contemplating, the theatre went pitch black, abnormally loud pulsing music starting blaring and they turned on 3 spotlights in the back of the stage which just blinded the audience. all of a sudden millions and millions a large pieces of paper confetti started blowing out towardss the audience, and before you knew it, we were all just coverd in the stuff! The combo of the lights, pounding music, and just a storm of white paper flying at you extremely fast was unreal! I think I might have had an acid flashback too.
