Just got back from seeing it.Vin is back on track on this one, giving a reserved, brutal performance.Great special effects, solid storyline.Riddick is the character he was born to play, none of that over the top shit.He displays a very athletic, lethal nature,it's cool to watch him go berserk with his knife on would-be assassins. This is probably the best sci-fi/action flick I have seen since Matrix Reloaded, and I will be going back to see it again.Thumbs up!

YEAH I FIGURED THE FIRST WEEK WOULD BE SLOW BECAUSE PREVIEWS LOOK GAY, BUT SECOND WEEK THE WORD WOULD GET OUT AND EVERYONE WOULD GO AND SEE IT THE SECOND WEEK.... I'LL PROB GO WATCH IT TONIGHT. PROBABLY WATCH PITCH BLACK RIGHT BEFORE:d

I liked it. I used my day off for the Presidential funeral to see it yesterday. I do feel they stole some ideas from other movies but it worked pretty well. I was entertained while I sat there eating my chicken tenders and curly fries.

That ending reminded me of Conan the Barbarian and Kull the Conqueror.

Vin diesel is hot and should show his butt more

I just also came back from seeing it.

Sucks most of the theatres were still used for that crappy ass Harry Port-a-potty and a couple other flicks -- so the lack of theatres won't make it #1.

But I think it was definately good. That part with him and the dogbeast totally caught me off guard. That was some good fucking screenwriting there. Totally funny.

So who's gonna be the first one to start the "did he juice" thread?

Way better then any Matrix could ever be, Vin is believable as a bad ass, Keanu Reeves is only believable as a brain dead stoner/surfer

Just got back from seeing it. Did not like the elemental (the actress who plays M in the new Bond films). Also the jumpy, strobe lite fight scenes got on my nerves.

Interested to see how this series plays out. Might be the vehicle for Vin to have a Mel Gibson-like career (al a Lethal Weapon I, II, III, Gray, Super Gray deluxe, Ultra Gray in a wheelchair, etc).

In case anyone doesn't know this is a spin off from his character in Pitch Black. I know I know most of you know but for those who don't.

Than any of the three in the trilogy? wow

a sequel. maybe Lucas can learn a lesson here on how to write EXCITING science fiction movies for a goddamn change!

BBB-This is a a sequel, set 5 years after they escaped off that planet in Pitch Black.Riddick has been hiding in Exile, and is forced out because of mercs trying to collect a bounty that has been put out on him.

It did #2 this week with $25 million. It would've been #1 if it wasn't for that over-rated, utterly boring Harry Port-a-potty. Next time, DON'T change directors. It clearly shows.

I hope it makes enough for a sequel. Next one should be even better if they keep this up. Diesel had to decide whether to pursue a new XXX, a new Riddick or a new F&F. What an agonizing decision that must've been. Hopefully he made the right choice (deinfately no F&F, that had limited sequel potential, like Speed).

I saw the first 10 minutes of it when the showed it on MTV.

i definately need to go see it now after reading the good word

i haven't seen it but from i'm hearing, everybody is basically saying what you are saying especially on the radio.

“It’s been a long time since I smelled beautiful” :FRlol:

I Just watched it and though it was pretty GAE....well, really gae as a matter of fact....aliens and stuff are cool, but all those ships and underground volcano ass prisons and blah blah blah was confusing….too star treky for me..

Just got back from watching Riddick a few hours ago. I thought it was okay. Nothing spectacular, but entertaining and some good action scenes. Storyline is pretty typical. The whole "outer force tries to conquer a planet/universe and take over" plot is getting way out of hand now. You had it in Lord of the Rings, Matrix, now Riddick. Seems like every action flick is like that nowadays. Special effects are pretty good, but some of the dialogue and general story was pretty cheesy. The storyline isn't thought provoking like the Matrix and so it's just your typical action flick. Vin plays his role pretty well and doesn't have too many cheesy one-liners lol. Best scene I thought was when Riddick refuses to kneel and takes on the leader's best fighter. I give it 6 out of 10 stars.

For you guys who saw it: was it better or worse compared to Pitch Black? I like PB alot, so if it's better than I'll have to see this one too.

Pitch Black: better, more involved developed story (the abandoned outpost, explanation of mercs) showing Riddick has a human side to him.

Chronicles: much better fight scenes, action. Further "historical" information.

Worth seeing if you need some more predictabe violence in your day.

I liked the movie.

That prison chick looked way better when she was all dirty in prison. She didn't look so hot fixed up. I like 'em nasty I guess.

The sad thing is that Riddick didn't get any off her even after he risked his life saving her from the sun on that planet.

Sounds like my life...
minus the saving from sun part.

LOL...I liked this one about the same as Pitch Black personally.Vin definitely showcased his athleticism in this film.He does a lot of really gymnastic type shit. Can't believe some of you guys didn't like it.Then again,I'm a little pre-biased toward sci-fi/action,it's my favorite film genre.

>I like 'em nasty I guess

Oh yeah!!!

She looked VERY fuckable in that one scene with that "fuck me" look in her eyes.

I think from what she said, she and Riddick had a thing before in the past. So maybe that's why he wasn't so agro about gettin' with her. He already hit that thang!

but yeah id' still hit her up again, being that i'm saving her life and all. Jesus, LEAST she could do, a quickie in the mountain. :)
