Cheap camber bar?

I have been looking into getting or making a camber bar. I have looked around and the cheapest one I can find was 165$ I would rather not spend that much money on one if I can help it. Has anyone ever made one out of an old bar? I don't think it would be that much trouble. Cut it and weld it back together with some more metal. Any ideas would be a big help.

If you just want one with a certain amount of curvature, by a cheap bar and beat on the center with a sledgehammer. Not pretty, but it works.

Make sure that the bar is strong enough to support a lot of weight and it wont bend or break during say a GM or a BP on a board.

I don't really care what it looks like as long as it gets the job done. I think were just going to cut one down and welt it back together with 3 bends in it. I will let you know how it works!
