Cardio?

28 years old 5'8 213 13% body fat. Question is when my goal is to build lean muscle mass, what type of cardio should i be doing and how much? I want to keep fat gains away as much as possible while i build lean mass. But I dont want to hinder gains. Thanks.

I like to get at least 10 minutes in after lifting with the heart rate above 150, 30 if i'm feeling froggy. Plyos, dumbbell cleans, jumping rope, burpees etc all with a short break in between. For machines i prefer the stairmaster, i'm usually dripping sweat on every step after 10. It isn't for everyone but it works for me as my goals are to train for endurance as well as strength. Dylan an Steve have some good opinions on cardio.

You will hear a lot about fasted cardio in the morning as well. Try a search, it's one of the most popular topics on here, the ole "how can i burn fat while preserving muscle" thing.

You already seem pretty lean... Id keep the cardio from small to nothing if i were you. Walk/jog. keeep it simple at that weight.. Just my opinion

Moderate for 15-20 after a good lifting sessions. On off days moderate for 30-45 if any. Just don't over due it if trying to gain. As long as you eat clean excessive fat gain shouldn't be a problem.

30 min - 3 to 4 days a week. A light jog or cycling partly for burning some surplus calories but also for general cardio-vascular health.

Great thanks guys. I am looking to build mass but just dont want to hinder size gains. Just want to keep fat gains down while I build.
