can u lose your ass and leg muscle on stairstepper

hey i use the stairmaster on an emooty stomach for 30 min 3 times a week and change it up with fast walking/..i want to kno i have a lil bit of flab (not at all much) on my tummy and the rest of my body is pretty musculary ripped..i want to lose my tummy fat before my leg or ass muscle so is it possible or just through diet.
 
You can not spot reduce...dont we all wish you could...its gonna come through your diet and weight training..cardio helps dont get me wrong..but diet is the key...3 x a week at 30 minutes is fine..you are not going overboard w/ cardio so you should not lose a lot of muscle or anything..make sure you feed your muscles;)
 
No its not just the diet, its everything - diet, weight training, cardio. I think you need to keep building muscle which in turn will help you burn fat. Cardio 3x doesn't sound excessive to me, but everyone is different. I think it is important to monitor your results and make changes as necessary. If the stairmaster and walking is not getting the look you desire, change your program.
 
Have you ever tried Spinning? In conjunction with a good diet, I think you'll be able to lose any excess weight.
