Ok I broke my arm 2 1/2 weeks ago and have had one medium leg workout since. Now that I have a cast I am trying to go more regularly.
Anyway I went yesterday and was gonna do abs ss/lunges and back ss/calves.
I tried to do lunges but it just wasn't working with 1 arm. So instead I decided to do 1 min. on the exercise bike at 100 rpm at level 12 (the highest) for my leg "sets" between abs. So that's what I did for the last 2 sets.
The cycling left me out of breath and burning slightly but nothing crazy.
After my last set of ab machine crunches I all of a sudden felt super dizzy and nauseated and feeling like I had diarrhea. So I just lean on the tri machine for a while and it doesn't get much better. I almost feel like I don't know where I am. I almost walked the wrong direction to the bathroom.
So I drag a trashcan into the stall and sit down. I get a little diarrhea but don't puke. After like 20 mins I'm sick of waiting around and I leave even though I still felt pretty bad. Over the course of the next couple of hours I pretty much return to normal.
So I have a few theories to throw out there, let me know if any of them makes sense.
1. After taking quite a few Vicodin ESs over the course of the past 2 weeks (but no more than 2 a day for the past 4 days and none the day before) my body's natural production of endorphins was "shut down" and this was some weird reaction to that.
2. My body simply wasn't used to this type of exercise(I never do cardio or interval training) and I would've felt this way even if I had been working out regularly.
3. A combination of 2 and The fact I haven't worked out lately (i wouldn't have felt so sick if I had been working out regularly but i still would've felt it)
4. I had a very mild case of food poisoning (my guts had been feeling kinda bad but not terrible that day) that was exacerbated by the exercise bout.
5. I'm dying of a rare heart ailment or a blood clot from the surgery or something.
Alright I hope this wasn't too long winded or grossed too many people out.
Thanks
JC
