Can Polygamy Work?

Husband and I were having conversation on a very long car ride last night. Is it possible for a polygamous relationship to work?

NOT talking Utah where you got 1 man and 8 wives (three of which are under the age of 18) following some screwed up perverse version of the Mormon Bible. I'm talking a three way relationship of EQUALS (more than that??? shit that's an orgy)? For the purposes of this discussion the sexes of the parties wouldn't matter (also, assume no children will be involved). I'm not just talking about sex, either, but a committed 3-way relationship.

Has anyone ever known such a thing to succeed? Is it even possible?

at one point i was in a relationship with a married couple
more like super best friends
but when they had kids i took that as a sign it was over

i dont think so. the wives would end up getting jealous or what not of each other.then if one wife has kids and the other doesnt then who wife (b) would try to raise wife (a)'s kids and she'd get pissed about it.plus what if wife (a) wants sex every night but so does wife (b) who does the hubby please both????

Well, do remember that I deleted children from the equation (it's just an impossible scenario if you have children, really, the state would get involved somehow); and it doesn't have to be two women it could be two men one woman too; but i'm also assuming a level of bisexual activity ... so if we've got a pooped out man let's assume the ladies would help each other out.

bisexuality does not necessarily need to be involved
it was in my case but the bond was the friendship
and i do miss them

I planned on writing a book about this. My concept would involve 2 couples. 2 men and 2 women. This setup provides financial, emotional, and physical support. I write more on the subject later. I have to leave for BJJ classes.
