since I have satellite I can't help you but there's tons of satellite hacking sites out there so there's gotta be just as many out there for cable. What I do know is that you can't descramble digital cable just yet, that capability is supposed to be available next year.

not that i would ever condone an illegal activity, however you must supply them with the model name and number of the converter your local cable company uses. For me it would be atlanta scientific

Im on at&t cable and I have a universal that works great. It's a ranger 5000 model.

I bought my Clearmax 2000 on eBay and it's pretty much flawless ($200+/-)
The satellite emulator is the bomb too ($300 + H card)

The cable people are on to this and can and do drive a van around areas suspected of illegal access, ie: cable descrambler boxes.

They can locate one by electronic RF signal it creates and as such your residence can be searched for it.

Be careful, you should have basic service so you are paying a fee, pay them for the use of their box and then just hook yours up when they leave if your place is not already setup.

That is about all I can say about that.

Unfortunately for them they do not have the power to get a warrant and cannot enter your house without your permission. If they ask, repeat the following:

"Fuck You, Asshole." (And make sure you can disconnect your box reasonably quickly.)
