Body in a constant state of HUNGER

Ever since I started seriously training a couple weeks ago my body seems to be in a constant state of hunger! I have not put on any weight (losing fat though) but I cannot believe how much I am eating. It seems every couple of hours my stomach starts growling. Is this typical for the new weight trainer?? I am supplementing with protein and creatine and seem to be getting between 3200 to 3500 calories per day.

Welcome to the world of bodybuilding. Btw I eat upwards of 6000+ calories a day when builking. 3500, I can lose 3 ibs a week for at least the first 3 or 4 weeks on a cutting phase before having to drop to 3200-3000 to continue loosing weight. Still 3500 clean calories might be ok, what is your hight/weight right now? If you are too small, like 150 ibs, you may want to go with 3000 or so, but it can vary greatly.

I am 5'8" tall and weigh about 190. I was 215 a couple months ago. My goal is to lose fat and put on muscle (I am not sure what my bodyfat % is but it is probably pretty high). I started training with machines, at a local Bally's, but due to work and and going back to college for a graduate degree, did not have the time anymore. This board saved me from buying a bowflex and instead bought a power rack, bench, and weights. I am using a 5x5 routine, training 4 days a week. I am also doing four 40 min cardio sessions/week. Never had this experience with constantly being hungry when training with machines though. I do feel better than I have in years and am very excited with the changes I already see in my body and strength gains.
