Ok looking for some good info on geting a nice tall peak! I have my own ideas but looking for maybe a better key! No disrespect, but i want qoutes from people that have the montain peak's not the average john doe arms...i seen some arms around here not many were to impressive. This is way i say this...
So lets all stay on the subject and maybe more will benefit from this too.

Genetics bro- you can make your arms grow but you can't change the shape they'll take. Anyone who tells you different is just plain wrong.

It is my understanding that the peak is just the shape of the muscle and is down to genetics, the only thing that you can affect is the overall size of the muscle not the shape.

Thanks for clearing this up for me! I guess thats why BB put oil in there bicept's for that look...

case closed!

Yeah, they are right. For a while I had a routine that consisted of spider curls, preacher hammer curls, reverse curls and preacher curls. Didn't get anymore peak. It's genetics. I have football shaped biceps like Sergio. Arnold had tennis balls for biceps.

right now...i have no peak. when I'm lean, I have one. its about the illusion your bicep creates between your deltoid and also between the elbow. it is about your genetic shape , but being lean can bring out a peak where you thought you had none.

as for an exercise specific answer, there probably is none. make them mountains and chisel away the valleys with diet and cardio.

My understanding is that it is primarily down to the location of the insertion point of the brachialis. Provided the insertion point is suitably placed, then growing the brachialis pushes up the biceps muscle above it giving a peak. As such, provided that you have a suitably connected brachialis, then reverse curls and preacher curls should help. Anything which works the brachialis should contribute to your biceps peak.

I think peaks has alot to do with muscle shape, more so then training. I developed peaks from the moment my muscle started forming in my biceps. Small ones, but that was just the shape they took. Certain exercises may eccentuate that, but really theres no way I can test that personally. Ive done alot of alternating dumbbell curls with a twist at the top to contract that area. Also some standing Double Biceps Style Cable curls, and heavy preachers seems to hit that area hard. Though I dont think much can be done if your arm doesnt have that shape to begin with.

I think its due to the peak that I get such a dramatic increase from relaxed to flexed. Relaxed my arms were around 16" and flexed they shot up to 18 3/4 cold. In this pic they were 18 1/4", but you can see some peak.

Nice pic Beast

I concur to what was said before
Blame your parents and, now, squat!

I do them too, many ppl claim it works too..I got some peak off of them to but always trying to better myself! I am trying lite weight now.heavy doesnt seem to be the way for peak.I knew someone lifted lite and grew a montain and he didnt event train hard...I have also started noticeing that the straight bar use with control and lite weight gives me a good pump at the peak area too..ill just keep mixing it up till i find a key that works for me about all you can do...Nice to get good straight talk with out all the BS..Thanks guys!

No problem. I agree, its always good to mix it up. My rep ranges vary greatly on everything except for tricep work (which I usually keep at 15, sometimes 12 reps). Sometimes I go real heavy on biceps as they need to be torn up good for me to get any growth. But also Ive managed to get growth out of some dropsets I like to incorporate. One dropset Ive done,Ive gone up to 85 straight reps. I start off with 5 10lb plates on each side of the EZ curl bar on the preacher bench(can get reps with 180), thats 120lbs. Not heavy for me, but the max the bar will hold. I hit that too failure (15-20 reps). Then strip it down to 4 10's a side and rep that to failure. I continue the process with no rest until Im at 1 10lb plate a side and rep that a good amount of times, even though my arms are numb its never too heavy. But the burn is intense. Those 5 sets are one dropset. Ive repeated this 2-3 times in a single workout. As my endurance is good and I can nearly repeat the amount of reps on my second dropset. With a little rest. Then Id even hit a few sets on top of those. But Ive gotten growth with these lighter sets, due to the intensity of the sets I believe. Failure is key to me. Limbs ceasing to contract.

Nice post...Just like the prison days...I use to do that for bic and tri that will blow your shit up fast too! I also did that with inclines on the smith machine till my dum ass for got the differents between pain and strain and was out for almost 3 years with a rotorcuff injury...But i am back and better then ever to a point... Now being older my body doesnt heal as fast with injurys like this dam elbow tendon i pulled on D...Thing doesnt want to heal so bicepts are in lite mod now for over a month..yea play you pay i guess...Thanks for all the great info!

LMFAO beast that shit made my day...Thats shits to dam funny....Your alright in my book...peace brother...

you cant change that a lot because it's due to genetics but you can help a peak buy doing preacher curls with a cable (far back as possible) that way when you hold at the top you still have pressure working against you and not relying on gravity also another thing is concentration curls you may remember arnold doing them in pumping iron (so i'm in weaven...wight? lol) he swears by them and look at his peak as you lift the weight twist your wrist outwards so that your little finger is above your thumb by the top of the lift you will notice this pop your peak out but obviously only so far genetics will let you, try it out
