I thought I would take advantage of my limited time platinum status and actually discuss some chemistry. The majority of the topics discussed in this forum are formulation related as opposed to true chemistry.
I was looking at THG, aka "The Clear".
One of the reasons it was synthesized was that it was a one step process of hydrogenation from an available raw material; gestrinone; seen as the product in the below image. My thoughts are that while it was a good compound, it would have been better as a 17-methyl as opposed to the 17-ethyl that it is. A raw material used as the starting material in the synthesis of gestrinone would work as a starting material for this potentially better compound:
Vida published that 17-methyltestosterone is substantially stronger than 17-ethyltestosterone. 17-ethyl is at about 30% of 17-MT in L.A assays. This could suggest that the 17-methyl derivative of THG would be 3X more active in a levator ani muscle assay. Likely a better compound than THG.
