Best Preworkout Calories???

I'm about to start eating a Preworkout meal. I was wondering what type of carbs are better Preworkout: Simple or Complex? I know for Protein I wanna use Whey, but what about Carbs? Plz include what you eat/drink too for specifics. Looking for examples as well as answers. Thanks guys.

My prework out meal.....3/4 cup oats (cooked), 1 can tuna on 2 slices of whole grain bread.... Sometimes, but only sometimes, ill cook some spaghetti...i get this Pasta Plus stuff, has mad carbs, and protein added into it, with other nutrients...Good stuff and if i eat it about 1hour and 45 min before. It gives me a good blast.

Wow, and I was hoping for some protein drink reccomendations, not a real meal. Not sure if I can eat that much food pre workout and still feel comfortable while lifting. Hate feeling "Full Stomached" and working out. Maybe I'll try Oats and Muscle Milk shake, read that some where?
 
Yeah bro thats fine too.....I eat mine about an hour and 45 minutes before i even leave to go to the gym.....so there isnt much left in my stomach before i leave....I banged out some high rep squats one day started to puke but it was nothing but dry heaves.....But Muscle milk and oats sounds delicious. To each his own i guess.

Those are supposed to be good, also run a search on 'The Big Drink'.
 
i eat a bannana. 30 mins prior to. too early in the morning for me to get complete meals down. pro'lly should add some whey.
 
I only have a Preworkout meal when I'm bulking up..... I usually have Wheat Pancakes with Sugar Free Syrup..... I make them up and add some special Cooking Whey Protein to them for more protein content..... I eat them about 1.5hrs before lifting, and it gives me a nice amount of energy in the gym..... I know some guys will drink 8oz of Gatorade on the way to the gym, so everyone is different I guess.... My reccomendation would be to try your Muscle Milk with Oats, and if that doesn't give you the energy boost youre looking for, try a Simple Sugar option, and see if that's better?
