Best exercises for functional strength ?

if you did just functional strength workouts they are much harder than the typical meathead workout of bench press and hammer strength.

problem is many gyms don't have the proper equipment for that and the ones that do like cross fit gyms ONLY have those.. really i'm a big believer in doing all of the above
 
Well I think every possible training program should be based around those movements.

Squats, deadlifts, different presses, pull ups, push ups, lunges, burpees, rows and so on.
 
Look at military exercises for strength. It 100% tested by years.
